I just had this crazy idea - In the inayofuata months, I'll write a series of 8 makala (well, I'll continue only if wewe like them, of course). The first 7 makala will be about separate aspects of the DP sinema (Score, princess, couple, screenplay, villain, sidekicks and animation/art), and in the final makala I'll make the average of the grades I gave the sinema in each aspect and make my inayopendelewa DP sinema orodha = )

The first makala is about the scores! Enjoy =D BTW, all the pictures I used feature my inayopendelewa song from each movie.

10. Cinderella - 7,0

It sure has a lot of nice songs – My inayopendelewa one is “A Dream is a Wish your moyo Makes”. “So this is love” and “Cinderella” are very nice too. But the rest of the songs feel zaidi like a childish album and don’t have much of a message au big importance in the screenplay – I personally don’t understand why “Bibidi bobidi boo” got an Oscar nomination. Plus, it sounds considerably dated.

9. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - 7,75

Just like Cinderella, this movie has a couple of nice songs, including one of Disney’s sweetest upendo songs, but most of them are childish. However, there is a very likeable childish score in the movie, during Snow White’s dance with the dwarfes. This song fills my bedroom with joy whenever I watch the movie. The instrumental opening of the movie is very epic too.

8. Mulan - 8,0

I honestly don’t know who composed this score, but I have to say that the person did quite a good job. I mean, out of all the DP movies, this is the one where the songs were harder to fit in, due to its chinese setting and deep story, and though the job was well-done, it’s still one of Disney’s weakest scores. The solo song of the princess is short and unmemorable, but 2 following songs make up to it: “A Girl Worth Fighting For” and specially “I’ll make a man out of you”.

7. Aladdin - 8,75

Aladdin’s score has 2 main problems: The first one is that most of the songs are made to sound funny, and end up not being as memorable as most of Disney’s songs (in the case of “Prince Ali” and “A Friend Like Me”). The sekunde one is that after great villain songs in THE LITTLE MERMAID and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST it is pretty disappointing that the movie’s villain only sings 2 au 3 lines. Other than that, it’s a score full of joy, sustained kwa “A Whole New World”, one of the best songs of all time.

6. Sleeping Beauty - 9,0

This ballet-inspired score is glorious, and I would have ranked it even higher if it worked well as a movie score as it does as a piece of art. The biggest problem is that most of the songs are sang kwa chorus and the only memorable one is Once Upon a Dream (one of the best upendo songs from the cinema). However, it has some of Disney’s best instrumental pieces.

5. Tangled - 9,1

Its score is great as a whole, but individually, as brilliant as they are, the songs can’t compare to past Disney classics. “When will my life begin” can’t compare to “Part of your World”, “I See the Light” is a poor follow-up to “Beauty and the Beast”, “Kiss the Girl” and “A Whole New World” and “Mother Knows Best” isn’t as good as “Poor Unfortunate Souls” and “Friends of the other Side”. However, the movie’s songs are good enough to provide one of DP movie's best scores.

4. Pocahontas - 9,25

Every single song in this movie is fulfilled with tons of energy, mostly because of Pocahontas’ voice – That is noticeable whenever she sings – Just Around the Riverbend, Colors of the Wind and specially in the impressive final musical number – Savages. One of the problems of this movie is that its score is way better than the movie itself – Mine, mine, mine, for example, is too good to be sang kwa such a poor villain like Ractiffle. The instrumental score in the end of the movie always gives me chills.

3. The Princess and the Frog - 9,3

Maybe this one is lower in most people’s lists, but I have a personal attachment to some songs of this movie. “Almost There” feels like me imba about my hard work to achieve my dreams, while I feel like Tiana while she’s trying to get to the restaurant during “Down in New Orleans”. I also feel like its reprise could be the theme of my happy ending too. Putting that beside, we have to assume that all the songs have great quality (after all, it was the first DP movie since Aladin to have zaidi than one song nominated in the Oscars). The biggest problem are the sidekicks songs, all disposable.

2. Beauty and the Beast - 9,75

This score has the charm of Sleeping Beauty, but it manages to be catchy and memorable at the same time. It’s epic and gives the movie the musical feeling it’s famous for. The songs even manage to fix some holes in the plot – In the case of “Something There” and “Beauty and the Beast” itself. In fact, I feel that if we took away muziki from all the DP movies, this one would be the most affected. There’s not one single song I dislike and it has a lot of instrumental tunes too.

1. The Little Mermaid - 10,0

This score reaches the deepest feelings from my moyo – Both in instrumental moments and during Part of your world – which is my all-time inayopendelewa song. It is filled with joy, in momments like Kiss the Girl and Under the Sea. And the surprising is that even managing to do this, all the songs have an important function in the story. Poor unfortunate souls was the song that introduced Villain Songs in Disney, and I still think that “Gaston” au any other villain song made aftewards is able to reach its level.

Leave a maoni = ) Hope wewe enjoyed!

A kura ya maoni was recently made about who was the most selfish DP, and I was shocked and annoyed at what people were saying about Elsa (and Merida... But I guess I may have to make that makala later) being selfish.

I know this point is already being debated on the poll, so some may find it a bit repetitive to read this, but I wanted to make a really detailed examination about Elsa and her 'selfishness'.

One argument I read was: "in the beginning part when she forbids Anna to marry him, it's just because she doesn't want to see Anna have fun with others while she is alone in her own sadness...."....

If most of wewe like me have grown up with The Little Mermaid and have followed the sinema and TV shows, I think wewe realize when it comes to the story of the rebellious redhead from under the sea, it's not completely there.

Now I didn't see The Little Mermaid in theaters, but a lot of wewe did. It after all was the highest grossing animated film at that time. And of course, wewe all loved it. So when wewe found out that Disney was making an animated series about the movie, wewe of course were very excited. I myself grew up watching the series on VHS's and one of the VHS's I owned was "In Harmony."...

Elsa's name (a variant of Elizabeth) is Germanic for "noble".
Elsa is 21 years old kwa the time of her coronation, according to Jennifer Lee, the Junior Novelization, and the age difference from Anna.
When Elsa joins the Disney Princess line-up, she'll not only replace cinderella as the oldest Disney Princess, but she'll be the only Disney Princess to not be a teenager.
Elsa is the first Disney Princess who is the deuteragonist to have a solo of her own. jimmy, hunitumia does not count since her solo was removed from her feature film.
Despite the fact Elsa controls ice and snow, which are both...

Lately my obsession for Pocahontas is growing, and although I've already made a "Why I Love" makala for her, I just really wanted to write something else for her. The makala will be a scene-by-scene review, so I'll start from the beginning and talk about every scene she's in till the end, so this makala might get pretty lengthy. Anyways, I hope wewe enjoy :)

We first see Pocahontas up on a cliff thinking. I upendo how Pocahontas thinks things through and isn't at all impulsive. We then see her dive off the cliff, as opposed to going down the safer way. This shows Pocahontas's adventurous side...
