Bonjour! I actually have never done a "favourite DP movie list" and damn I thought I'd better get cracking and do one, just in case anybody's interested... au whatever.
Shall we get started?

12. Brave

Sorry Brave lovers, I’m not saying I hate it au even dislike it; I liked it when I first saw it, but then when I watched it again and delved deeper into it, I figured that it wasn’t my cup of tea. I didn’t agree with Merida’s actions at the start of the movie but I was very impressed kwa her character development and how she learnt her lesson and I commend her for that. I liked the fact that her hobby is shooting arrows; I don’t know why but I wish I could see her in battle (sorry that’s the Lord of the Rings side coming out of me, I forgot this movie has to apply to children as well.) The songs weren’t incredible, the characters weren’t incredible, and the story wasn’t incredible. I’m probably in the minority here but I just didn’t connect with the movie that much. For me it didn’t have the Disney magic.

11. cinderella

Sorry cinderella lovers as well. Don’t get me wrong; I like the character Cinderella, but I thought the movie was, well, boring. It’s above Brave because it has better songs and indeed does have the Disney magic (when I talk about the Disney magic au lack of, I’m talking about my opinion). I used to like the little mice but now I find them irritating; they could have been main characters on their own and took up most of the story. cinderella is not one of my favourite princesses but I admire her for her kindness and hard-work. I disliked two characters in this film: Prince Charming and Lucifer. Prince Charming to me didn’t do anything. He only saw cinderella because of her beauty, they barely talked, etc. The Prince in Snow White is similar, but at least he showed care and sorrow towards her when Snow was presumably dead; Prince Charming for me didn’t really care about Cinderella. He even sent the Duke to do the dirty work. Again I am probably in the minority and many will disagree with me but that’s just my thought. Lucifer I just detest. Anyway it was an OK movie, but I was never interested in it.

10. The Princess and the Frog

I liked the Princess and the Frog; it’s not the best movie but it’s OK. It was zaidi interesting than cinderella for sure. I didn’t really like Naveen but I liked how he developed. The little firefly (Ray?) and his Evangeline made me cry a little bit; points there. Doctor Facilier wasn’t the best villain but he wasn’t bad. I liked Tiana; I admired her passion and hard work and culinary skills, aliyopewa the fact that my culinary skills are non-existent. Her imba voice was very, very impressive (am I finally in the majority with this point?). I suppose I just didn’t connect that much with the movie. That’s all I have to say.

9. Pocahontas

I think I’ll get something out of the way here; Pocahontas has some of the most beautiful songs. Colours of the Wind was fantastic, and I enjoyed Savages and Just around the Riverbend too. Pocahontas the character was alright; I found her a little boring however. I admired the fact that she brought something new to the meza, jedwali with being all spiritual and loving nature etc, and how she was able to smooth things over with the Europeans and save John Smith. This movie taught lovely morals and I enjoy watching it. I just didn’t really enjoy Pocahontas’ relationship with John Smith (and again back in the minority). And I thought Pocahontas was a little boring sometimes.

8. Sleeping Beauty

Now we’re getting to the sinema that I really like; and I suppose the first Disney movie I had ever seen in my life just has to be in this category. It introduced me to Disney and succeeded in making me like it. I don’t find Aurora to be underdeveloped; if wewe observe closely wewe can see that she’s a well developed character for the eighteen dakika she has on screen. I also liked Prince Phillip; I’m not really sure why, but I liked him. The vichimbakazi were cute and funny. I just hated the song (I don’t even know what it’s called) that Stefan and Phillip’s Dad sings; it was just a time waster. I’d rather they fill in the time with Aurora. Maleficent was also great; a typical Disney villain who’s pretty awesome, and I enjoyed the movie they just made about her. The settings were really nice. I only really liked the songs that Aurora sings, but apart from that, this movie was enjoyable; I only liked the others more.

7. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Disney did a fantastic job with their first full-length feature. The typical fairytale which never grows old and is loved kwa people of all ages (it’s my nan’s favourite film) and kwa me as well. The film is simple but joyful and gives me a warm, happy feeling inside. Snow White is adorable – she may be the damsel in distress kind of girl but she is cute, sweet, innocent and lovely. Nothing is ever wrong with that. The dwarfs crack me up. The Prince is OK, he’s quite sweet to Snow White. I quite like the Evil Queen as well – I like how she speaks in old English, it makes her zaidi dark and mysterious. The songs are sweet; my favourite is “With a Smile and a Song” because it’s all about optimism after a crisis and reminding yourself that wewe can do good and make a difference, even though wewe might be upset: “Remember you’re the one who can fill the world with sunshine.” The wanyama are super cute too. This movie was lovely.

6. Aladin

I always liked Aladin when I was a kid and even though I like it slightly less now, I still appreciate it. I like the character Aladdin; he was cool and street-wise and his relationship with Abu is cute as. I just don’t like the fact that he’s a liar and in some cases he reminded me of a grown-up Peter Pan. (How, wewe might ask me, and I would ask myself that too. Aladin is so much nicer than Peter Pan.) jimmy, hunitumia is cool; fiery, rebellious, smart. I don’t find her bratty at all, as some people do. I upendo her red outfit the best. The songs weren’t too bad but I think I preferred the score. Jafar was an alright villain, I liked his sarcasm. I loved the Sultan and Rajah, they’re both so cute! So this movie was pretty good; I have always loved it and I always will.

5. Tangled

I saw this movie in the cinema and I was very glad I did. Now since I’m a bit older, I cried in Tangled. Apart from an Australian film called Red Dog, and a Winnie the Pooh movie called “A Tigger Movie” (which I cried in because Tigger ran away and I was scared that he wasn’t going to come back), I hadn’t really cried in movies. But now I do. Rapunzel and Flynn’s relationship is kwa far my favourite and Flynn is probably my favourite prince. The bit where I always cry is when he’s dying and he says: “Rapunzel, wewe were my new dream.” *Sniffle*. So sweet. The parents were SO much better than Elsa and Anna’s shocking parents. Silence is great sometimes and their emotional journey throughout the movie worked really well with no dialogue; it was cathartic. I really, really enjoyed the movie, I loved Rapunzel’s character development, I loved Flynn’s cynicism, I loved Maximus’ determination and I loved Mother Gothel’s... villainry. Great movie.

4. Frozen

Well I haven’t seen this movie this high on a countdown since, like, ever. Frozen get’s a lot of hate on fanpop (and from me being awful at hating and disliking things, I have never seen for myself the negative aspects of it. Some of them I have, but not all). For me this wasn’t a “bad” movie. I enjoyed this movie. And I’m not afraid to say it to the Frozen-dislikers. For me the villains are the parents and the trolls; they cause all of the problems that occur in the film. I feel very sorry for Elsa and I wish she could believe in herself to control her powers but through all of the abuse during her life she never believed she could, so I feel sympathetic for her. Anna is a little on the clumsy and silly side (marrying a guy after one day, I mean, come on?) but I still liked her optimism and willingness to help her sister. I adored Sven! He was so cute! Olaf I found irritating but I grew on him the sekunde time I watched the movie (and I saw the movie in the cinema. Twice lol). The characters were good, the plot (though it could have been improved slightly, and zaidi detailed) was good, the songs were fantastic, I liked all of them, the uhuishaji was superb. The score wasn’t too bad. So ujumla, jumla I really enjoyed this movie.

3. Mulan

I saw this movie for the one hundredth and thirty sekunde time yesterday, and it has never failed to amuse and entertain me. I just upendo the action part. (Movies such as Lord of the Rings with action and medieval battles will go above soppy dramatic upendo stories every time). Mulan is great and is slowly pushing away Belle on my favourite Disney Princess orodha to be in first place. Actually, she’s probably already there. Mulan is a fantastic character. She is sacrficial for her family, caring, humble, funny, clumsy and incredibly intelligent. Not to mention persistent; I loved the part where she retrieves the arrow... and then beats Shang up. (Lol. Nah, I upendo Shang.) The songs were great, the score is quite possibly my favourite (the muziki during “Mulan’s Decision” gave me the chills through it’s awesomeness). I like the characters, the soldiers and Mushu cracked me up. (“Dishonour on your family, make a note of this. Dishonour on you, dishonour on your cow...”) I LOVED this movie, and, like the movie that wins this countdown, I watched SO many times when I was a kid. SO many times. wewe go, Mulan. Of course women can do whatever men can do.

2. Beauty and the Beast

I don’t think there is anything I dislike about Beauty and the Beast (well, I don’t dislike pretty much anything as I mentioned earlier). Belle is a beautiful character, inside and out. She is very similar to me too, maybe that’s a reason why I liked her so much. I adore the furniture, they’re so lovely to Belle and the Beast. Gaston is a pretty good villain; definitely a realistic one. I upendo the songs and the score in this movie too. “Beauty and the Beast” is my favourite Disney song of all time, and the muziki when Beast is changing back into the Prince is enchanting. The morals of this story can never be beaten. It’s set in France. The uhuishaji is absolutely fantastic. It is just a lovely upendo story and one that I can stand watching. Absolutely beautiful, certain as the sun, rising in the East.

1. The Little Mermaid

If I didn’t watch this movie over and over when I was a little girl and loved it so much then Beauty and the Beast would make the first spot. Don’t get me wrong – I’m not saying this choice is totally due to nostalgia, because I still upendo this movie very, very much and it will always have a special place in my heart. Ariel was also my favourite princess as a kid. As a kid watching a movie, you’re kind of like a dog to its owner. wewe don’t care if the princess (or your owner) makes stupid decisions au is dumb. (For me Ariel isn’t like that, because I just don’t see bad things, however to some people she is.) wewe don’t care, wewe just upendo them for the person they are and what they have done for you. Through Ariel’s movie, she has demonstrated persistence, passion and determination which I am very grateful for, as well as curiosity and a upendo of things we take for granted. She’s just a girl in tafuta of happiness; chasing her dreams. For me this is the ultimate Disney story. I fell in upendo with the songs and the score (including Part of your World Reprise, as this one portrayed Ariel’s determination and passion for her dreams). “Main title theme” is probably my favourite muziki piece of all time (it’s the one right at the beginning.) I upendo Eric and definitely Ariel and Eric’s relationship. Sebastian, Scuttle and kweta are great, and Ursula is kwa FAR my favourite villain. Her performance during “Poor Unfortunate Souls” was so memorable and superb. I swear she hypnotised Ariel with her superbness. So yes this movie has been a big part of my childhood, but it is a movie that I have always loved, and will always upendo as well. It gives me the warm, happy feeling every time I watch it and the ending is just magical. I upendo how Ariel and her father understand each other at the end. For all eternity, this movie is my favourite Disney movie of all time.

So there wewe have it. Did wewe disagree with some of my points? Did wewe agree? Please let me know your favourite if wewe would like to, because I would very much like to know. Thank wewe so much for reading.
Merci et au revoir!

Author's Note: So, guys, this is a preview of a fanfiction I'm thinking I'll maybe do. It's Sleeping Beauty retold in Aurora's POV. What do wewe guys think? Tell me in the comments.

Briar Rose hummed to herself quietly as she picked berries from a bush. She smiled to herself: her aunts thought they could deceive her, but it was obvious they were planning something special for her birthday.

"I wonder what they're doing this year," she thought to herself. "Last mwaka Aunt Fauna sew for me this shawl, scarf I'm wearing, Aunt Flora made a maua, ua pot for me to put my flowers in and Aunt Merryweather baked...

hujambo everybody, during this time when we're supposed to give thanks and be thankful for what we have, I thought what not better way to celebrate than to insult all of the princesses clothes! What could be a better way to celebrate the krisimasi cheer! So without further ado, let's gooo! (I'm not including Anna and Elsa because 1. I'm lazy, 2. they're not coronated yet, and 3. #yolo.)

11. Ariel

Sorry Ariel, but I really don't like your wardrobe. I don't upendo any of her outfits, and it just seems every color she wears clashes with her red hair. They also seem too poofy and don't look too comfortable....
