So, I made a long rant on Mulan in a poll, so I figured I would add zaidi into it, and turn it into an article.

I don't think she's amazing as people make her out to be. Brave, smart, a great personality. I don't see all of that in her. She's pretty brave, but I think there are braver characters out there than just her. She's smart, but I don't think she's THAT smart, quick-thinking and smart are different. I don't find her personality appealing. She's pretty lazy and gave up too easily at the beginning of the movie. She only works hard when she's forced. Then kwa the end of the movie, she's completely perfect and is able to save all of China. I also don't see how she's so INCREDIBLY relatable to everyone. She's not confident that her parents will like who she really is. Well, at that point in the movie when she sings Reflection, who she really is, is a lazy, non hard working person. Well, then why should her parents find her to be this amazing person, if that's who she is? They are her parents and all, but seriously? She needs to shape up first. And kwa the end of the movie she's basically a flawless character. She sure goes through a huge character development, but she goes from someone who is far too flawed, to someone who's no where near flawed. It's like she's not even the same person.

They transform her because they want to fix the problem they made in the first place, but made it worse. Overall, she's uninteresting, boring, basically uneccasary, (I personally think the whole movie should have been about Shang.) is over flawed in the beginning, and a Mary-Sue in the end. She expects everyone to think she's great when she's really not. Her parents, and basically everyone. She says she tries to be herself, but she really doesn't. She's too afraid to. She claims she tries when she doesn't, she makes people do things for her, when she thinks she's doing it for herself. I'll make a man out of you, is a perfect example of how lazy she is. She's just forced, and there we go. She can do it. It's a quick sequence that shows.. She can be lazy, and not do anything until forced, and still succeed in everything she does. How is this relatable? Interesting? Doubt it. She's pretty boring throughout her movie.

Like Ariel, she complains about her life a lot, especially considering how there were Disney a Princesses with MUCH WORSE lives, and she was one of the lucky Disney Princesses, both parents alive, not having any tragedies, she just messed up her life some, and made it worse kwa complaining about it, and being lazy, and not fixing things herself. Who cares if she's badass? That's not all there is to her. Behind that, there's a lazy, (and lazily written.), uninteresting, over flawed turned Mary-Sue, character that is frustrating to watch. I don't know why everyone says she has the best character development. Since when? Her character development isn't well-written. It's unrealistic. She changes too much, too quickly. They focus too much on her and not enough on zaidi interesting characters, like Shan-Yu and Shang.

Many people seem to ignore all the bad qualities in her. "She's a great role model because she develops!" "She's really smart because she made a few quick thinking decisions!" And everyone seems to think that she is the best Disney Princess there was, I still don't understand how. She's not that relatable to me, I find her uninteresting, boring, lacking character and special qualities that other Disney Princesses have, and isn't special at all. What makes her so great? I never alisema that she was perfect when she went to the army. I'll make a man out of wewe is where she's forced, and does what she's forced to do. She's pushed to do things. Oh, and then, when she could have just LEFT, (her goal was to help her father anyway, not make zaidi trouble for herself.) she doesn't think, finds herself pushed to leave, (despite that fact that this is actually a good thing for her.) and acts without thinking.

I hate all of the, "Mulan doesn't need a man." Talk as well. She doesn't need a man? Maybe because she's a Mary-Sue kwa the end of the movie, she's pretty lucky, Shang is FAR zaidi experienced than her, yet she is still shown to be zaidi skilled than he is, despite her not even being experienced. *cough.*Mary-Sue.*cough.* Why do people always say, "Why do people not like this amazing character?" Well, there's a lot not to like. People really tend to look past things in her, I really think. I don't understand how her character development is considered the best of the Disney Princesses.

I personally, do not think she has the greatest character development. Maybe it's the "greatest" because it's the biggest difference between her character, but is that a good thing? Is it a good thing that her character changes too much, practically turning her into a different person? She seems to lose all of her flaws in one quick sequence. So, she still, trips au stumbles at the end of the movie, but that makes her a non-Mary-Sue? Everyone trips, it doesn't make wewe the most clumsy person on Earth because wewe do. Okay, so Mulan is, lazy, doesn't work until forced, cheats on easy things because she's too lazy to work for it, expects her family to fix things for her, gets herslef depressed despite not having that bad of a life.. And then one song, (I'll make a man out of you.) later, she's suddenly experianced, zaidi experianced than Shang, and is able to do everything herself. Oh yes, a little thing standing in her way can definitely make a difference when you're Mulan, can't it? Overall, I dislike her for all of these reasons, and this is why she is my least inayopendelewa Disney Princess.

Mulan: "Hero" Mariah Carey
 Lyrics speak for themself
Lyrics speak for themself

"Then a hero comes along
with the strength to carry on
And wewe cast your fears aside
Because wewe know wewe can survive
So when wewe feel like hope is gone,
Look inside wewe and be strong
Then wewe finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you"

I chose this song for Ariel because how she feels how of place, and nobody is backing her up on it

"I'm alone, on my own
And that's all I know
I'll be strong, I'll be wrong
Hey, but life goes on
Oh, I'm just a girl
trying to find a place in this world"

After all the hype, merchandise and racial debate The Princess and the Frog finally made it to the big screen, jam, jamu packed with a variety of different aspects that where inspired kwa other media. However not one of my favourite princess films, I can appreciate it was a good attempt and can enjoy certain aspects of its story. Now lets look at the concoction of literature, awali films and art stirred together in the Gumbo pot to make Disney's latest fairy tale.

The original text that the film's plot was loosely based of which is a novel released only 7 years prior in 2002 with the title...

Well, Diluka wanted another one, and here it is. Yeah, I don’t follow the order of the sinema this time around; I’ll jump a little bit between the earlier and the later ones. And with “The Little Mermaid” I think it’s the best to work through the elements of the story point to point to show, where Disney moves away from the chanzo text and where it (surprisingly) doesn’t. But before we come to that, I want to point out something: The chanzo text is in this case much different compared to the ones of the Grimm fairy tales. Those were a collection of preexisting oral lore. While the...

In light of Valentine’s Day, I decided to write an makala on the Disney Princess couple’s that I believe have the best and most realistic relationship. Oh, and spoiler alert: I only really like 4 of them.

Couples I DON’T like…

10. Mulan & Shang

 Mulan & Shang
Mulan & Shang

I upendo Mulan – she’s intelligent, brave and selfless. And Shang’s no novice either; in fact, his bravery, leadership and courage are practically matchless. But their relationship, it was too sudden; too forced. They lacked chemistry. Make no mistake, I upendo Mulan and Shang, they’re great – just not together....

I still continuously see people remarking on Pocahontas "lack of personality." It has been a little zaidi uncommon, but just for the other nonbelievers, I decided to write this. I know many will beg to differ, but it's just the way I see it. If wewe have any reason to disagree, go ahead and leave a comment. I'm up to defend her. XD Okay, I'll quit rambling on and actually start the article.

The Start

We first begin to see Pocahontas' personality in the very beginning. She leaves us with a lasting first impression. We can see how she is connected to nature from the very start. Seeing her jump off...
