The physical attributes of Ariel, as a human and mermaid.

One thing I've noticed about Ariel, is that she gets a lot of praise and detest for her hair. The big clump of red, flowing hair is absolutely beautiful to me; but everyone calls it unrealistic.

This is the point where I think CGI uhuishaji would really help out TLM. If she had been drawn/done in that animation, her hair color would of been zaidi exaggerated. They would of taken time to add in different shades of red, and oranges. Her hair then might of looked zaidi ginger and realistic, considering there are quite a few natural gingers.

The only thing I have been 50/50 on is how thick her hair is. Since her hair's naturally straight, I have a feeling, outside of the water, it wouldn't be so big; but then again, it's 2D animation. We can't really tell how much she has, but it does seem pretty big (and is bigger underwater, due to the water pulling it around).

Another thing everyone seems to disagree on is Ariel's body complextion. She's super uber skinny, yes. But do wewe really think the animators and artist were saying; "How about we make a stick thin Princess to put little and teenage girls down about their body mass?"

A lot of people don't recognize and remember that TLM was made before the mid 1990's and the 2000's era, in which there weren't as many overweight/obese people. The way they drew Ariel then was kind of an example of what girls looked like. A lot of them had fragile, small bodies. Overtime, our bodies have adapted to being zaidi curvy, and bigger-boned. Here, I'm not saying that women back in the Disney renaissance were stick thin, but not a lot of them had the curvy and bigger weight body types either, therefore, there weren't as many women to go against it. And complaining about it now won't get us anywhere, honestly. We are the era and people who are now putting up a stand against the un-realistic standards, but they weren't therefore, animators drew her the way they wanted to.

Another thing with her body; she's an animation. 2D uhuishaji again doesn't capture details and people as well as CGI does. Even though that may not be a very well-backed up argumentive side, it's kind of true.

Now, a lot of people are saying, "why doesn't Ariel have enough clothes on?? Why is she just wearing a bra??"

What else was she supposed to wear? She's a mermaid, and a lot of mermaids don't wear anything to cover their torso and chest. The seashell bra was probably the only thing that looked right on her. I don't really find it a problem, as a lot of girls wear less clothes than her at a beach, pwani anyways.

Ariel's personality and emotions

I upendo Ariel's personality. She's really quirky and giggly, which I do like to see in female characters (as long as it's not sugarcoated way too much; the cake never tastes good with too much sugar).

I think Ariel's emotions can represent everyone basically. Our curious side, our angry side, the sad side, and the hopeful side.

I find it kind of funny, whenever people say Ariel's got a bad temper. Don't we all have a temper? Ariel was being so passionate about something she wanted to do, and everyone's got a passion. And when people really get into things, their emotions get tied up in it. Honestly, I feel like people don't have a right to judge her with getting mad and disappointed. She was sixteen, (still going through puberty and really wild hormones), and it basically was her dream life. Tons of people get mad over a lot of stupid things, so why do they have a right to call her temper unnecessary au un-called for?

(Ahh, I'm so emabarassed, I don't have anything else to say here ;-;)

Ariel selling her voice

This is the point where everyone goes bitch, kahaba crazy and starts complaining.

At this point, Ariel really really wants to be a human. She goes to Ursula, and Ursula agrees to make her a human if she gives her her voice. Ariel agrees and all that stuff happens.

What I think about this, is that Ariel did something good for herself. I feel that people, themselves, should do things that make them happy and well-off, and that's what she did. She made a decision to make herself feel less-miserable and happier, to live a great life. And I'm pretty sure Ariel wasn't planning to leave her father's and sister's for good without visiting them au saying hello. She basically thought, "if I get Eric, I'll get my voice back and be able to talk to everyone again."

One thing about this though is how Ariel never thought to think that Ursula, the evil sea witch, would totally turn around and screw everything up. This was pretty much both their faults, since Ursula went back on her deal and Ariel didn't think it through clearly enough. So, both are kind of the problems here.

The one thing though that screwed me up was from the third sequel; where they had her mom killed kwa a HUMAN. Why didn't they make it like, a papa au something so Ariel wouldn't seem so awful for wanting to marry a human? (Unless that was the plan before. Sorry I went really off-topic).

Anyways, that's my article. I know it wasn't much, but that's my opinion on the situations. Hope wewe guys liked it!
