A little quickie makala on how I feel Moana would have been written if it was released pre-revival era. wewe know, before Disney became so OBSESSED with being subversive and different from their awali films.

Before I get into this, let me just tell y'all something, there's a difference between a cliche and convention. Having a upendo interest, a fully developed villain au a colorful cast of characters is not "cliche". Those are conventions, in other words, standard things that we've simply come to expect from certain genres of movies.

And if wewe really want to put some clever twist on these conventions, simply NOT having them is the laziest most boring way of doing that. I mean no one complains that superhero sinema have romance and villains, why is it such a problem with princess movies?

Honestly, Moana the movie is so half-assed, I wouldn't be surprised if they created Moana the character FIRST (because we needed a perfect independent role model heroine!) and then barely wrote a story around her.

Let's just get started with the list:

1. Te Ka/Te Fiti would be a zaidi fleshed-out character
...with dialogue, an actual personality and maybe even a musical number. I feel like giving her all of that would have made her transformation back to good at the end of the film all the zaidi satisfying.

2. A cast of characters would accompany Moana on her journey.
In addition to her animal companions, there would probably be at least one au two other characters from the tribe travelling with Moana, including perhaps a female friend similar to Nakoma au Lottie, and maybe even her father.

3. zaidi of a payoff with Moana's father.
Speaking of her father, his character and connection to Moana were set up to be extremely important to the narrative but after the first act, he becomes a complete non-factor. Give his story zaidi focus, whether through #2 au #6, which we'll get to.

4. Both the chicken and pig would probably talk and the pig would be zaidi prominent.
While the chicken was definitely a stand out character, no doubt the pig would be far zaidi involved in the story if this film was released during the height of the Disney Renaissance, back when animal sidekicks were so important that they even played a hand in saving the day.

5. A romance would be aliyopewa to either Moana au Maui
Either a traditional upendo interest subplot for the main character or, if they really wanted to mix it up, like HoND for example, a upendo interest for Maui, maybe with the "Nakoma au Lottie" character mentioned earlier. Boom, wewe get your non-romantic heroine and wewe get the sweet upendo story that Disney does so well.

6. zaidi scenes would be dedicated to the crisis back at the village.
Whether au not Moana's father goes with her on the journey, I actually feel there was a NEED to have a few scenes where we cut back to the island to see just how much damage has been done since Moana left, that would have added a lot zaidi gravitas to the ujumla, jumla narrative. I feel like this is just a fundamental part of effective storytelling.

If any of these ideas were used in Moana, I would probably like the movie a lot zaidi but I guess the movie we ended up with was passable. Anyhoo, thanks for reading!

 The 10 OFFICIAL Disney Princesses
The 10 OFFICIAL Disney Princesses
Alot of people debate over this, so I thought I'd be the one to address it. Who's royalty au who's not royalty really doesn't matter to me but I'm just going to tell wewe guys who's techinically a princess and who isn't . I will address the royal status of each in bila mpangilio order.

Mulan
First of all, Mulan is not a princess in anyway, we all know this. But wewe could say she's royalty as she was aliyopewa the crest of the Emperor. Not to mention all of China bowing down to her. So while Mulan isn't royalty, she's certainly not a commoner.

Belle
Technically, she isn't a princess either. Belle obviously wasn't...

My first makala for this month. This time I decided to take a closer look at my inayopendelewa DP movie endings. So sit back and enjoy :)

10. Princess and the Frog

Ok, last on my orodha is the Princess and the Frog ending... and honestly I didn't like it at all. First of all the movie was a total lolfest. The muziki was not memorable, the characters were boring. I basically couldn't wait for it to finish. And then in the end it has like 5 different endings... Wedding in the swamps, wedding in a church, buying the restaurant, fixing the restaurant, imba one zaidi unmemorable song... after each...

First of all, thanks to all of you, who voted in the picks! Here's the results for Prettiest Disney Princess Eyes as of May 2011!

10. MULAN
Overall people thought that her eyes are not big enough, and not as interesting as the eyes of the other princesses (whatever this means lol) Somehow the shape and the color are not vivid enough to make a lasting impression.

Darkshine said: "I think Mulan's eyes are very pretty"
KataraLover said: "They're beautiful!"

9.Snow White and the Seven Dwarves
Finally, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves gets last place. I'm sick of it winning first place everytime. This film is so overrated and overappreciated.

.....Most people alisema Snow White's voice was annoying and the songs were bad. That's all I have to say. I refuse to write any zaidi hatred about this film. From now on whenever I write makala I'm just automatically going to put Snow White last, au not even bother including it in countdowns, as it's going to lose anyway.

"ANd I hate Snow White's imba voice! Horrible!" (skypirate)

"I only like Heigh Ho...
