Dungeons & dragoni (or D&D for short) is a super fun tabletop roleplaying game that's been around since the 1970s but has recently gained a fair bit of popularity. I've been playing the game for around eight years at time of writing, and I strongly recommend wewe give it a try if wewe ever get the chance. It's really an absolute blast! D&D has always been one of my inayopendelewa hobbies, but within the last two years it's become an even bigger part of my life. Since I've been having so much fun with it recently, I decided it was finally time to try something I'd always wanted to do: turning the Disney Princesses into D&D characters.

Over the last mwaka I've been slowly creating D&D characters based off of the DPs, and I spent so much time on them that I really wanted to share them here. I'll be posting a series of articles, one for each DP, in which I explain why I chose the classes, subclasses, etc. for each princess, and share the backstory I wrote for each. I'll also be crossposting these makala to the D&D club. All the characters will be level 3 to ensure that they all have a chosen subclass. Sourcebooks used to build these characters include the Player's Handbook, Volo's Guide to Monsters, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, and Tasha's Cauldron of Everything.

Since I expect many of wewe here don't play D&D au maybe even haven't heard of it, I'll begin with the backstory I wrote since wewe might find that the most interesting. Below the backstory you'll find the zaidi nitty gritty stats of the characters. Anything written in italics is an author's note explaining my reasoning behind certain character choices.

Rapunzel

Human Druid - mduara, duara of Wildfire / Background - Hermit

This is definitely my most controversial decision of any of DP's classes. Yes, I made Rapunzel a druid: powerful spellcasters who are one with the natural world, and often considered the tree-hugging hippies of D&D. But Punz is one of the least nature connected DPs, especially when compared with the likes of Poca au Rose, so why did I make her a druid? It all has to do with how magic works in D&D. The kind of spellcaster wewe are depends on where wewe get your magic. Bards draw their magic from their music, clerics are granted divine magic from the god they worship, sorcerers are born with inexplicable powers passed down through their bloodline, etc. And druids? Druids draw their power from nature itself. Where does Rapunzel get her healing powers? A flower, which in turn got its powers from the sun, the driving force of all nature. Therefore, Rapunzel is a druid. I rest my case. I gave her the mduara, duara of Wildfire subclass because it has powerful healing spells along with spells of moto and light, and since her powers come from the sun, a literal blazing ball of fire, I thought it was fitting. I gave her the hermit background because, even though she was born a princess, she was raised in a tower completely isolated from the outside world.

Backstory

Backstories have been created with a combination of the stories from the films and rolling randomly on the bila mpangilio tables in the "This Is Your Life" section of Xanathar's Guide to Everything, which is why some of these backstories have some wild things that really come out of left field lol.

I was born to Queen Arianna and King Frederic of Corona. I am their only child, but was born with strange healing abilities thanks to a magical herb my mother had consumed during her pregnancy. I was little zaidi than a few hours old when I was stolen from within the palace walls kwa Gothel, a women who desired to keep my healing powers for herself. I believed she was my mother for my whole childhood. She spirited me away to a secluded tower deep in the forest, and never allowed me to go into the outside world. We lived a comfortable life there, but I was always curious and desired to see zaidi of the world. I spent my childhood alone, with no close Marafiki besides the wildfire spirit Pascal who took the form of a chameleon. I filled my days with as many hobbies as I could, constantly searching for a sense of satisfaction but always feeling like I would only find it outside the tower's walls. When I was 18, a handsome thief who called himself Flynn Rider happened upon my tower, and with his help I snuck out and was finally able to explore. I was dazzled kwa the outside world, and began to fall for my charming guide, whose real name turned out to be Eugene Fitzherbert. During this time I learned of my true parentage, and denounced Gothel.

My parents were overjoyed to finally have me back after so many years, and I was excited to begin a new life with them. Unfortunately, my lack of experience with the outside world was glaringly obvious, and after a time I asked their permission to let me explore zaidi of the world beyond our kingdom, to try and learn as much as I possibly could. With their blessing, I set out deep into the forest with Pascal as my only companion.

A few days into my journey I made camp in a copse of yew trees on the bank of a sacred river. While I was building my campfire, an injured falcon, kozi landed in one of the branches above my head. I coaxed it down and was able to easily heal it. To my surprise, it then spoke to me. He introduced himself as simply Bird, and offered a channel for the burning curiosity I had within me.

Over the inayofuata several months, Bird instructed me in the ways of the druids. I know he has a humanoid form, though he never revealed it to me. I learned much from him, but at a certain point he felt that experience would be a better teacher for me than anything zaidi he might tell me. So I set off again, and spent some time amongst woodsmen and foresters, earning a bit of coin of my own. A dwarf woman, Delre, became a special friend of mine after I helped her get rid of a kubeba that had denned too close to her nyumbani for comfort, and she gifted me with a beautiful ornate brooch crafted kwa her grandmother. But recently I alisema goodbye to Delre and have begun to retrace my steps. I would like to see Eugene again, and I am worried about what Gothel may be up to. I feel that I need to spend zaidi time amongst civilization to gain an understanding of what my people will need from me.

Regardless, I keep a small bottle of water from the river where I learned my new craft, and yew trees always remind me of renewing my mind and spirit, letting the old die and the new spring forth, as I have so recently done.

Yep, Gothel's still alive in this one hehe. And wewe can ignore anything that happens in Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure. I hadn't yet started watching it when I wrote this.

Character Stats

Level 3

STR -1 (9) DEX 0 (11) CON +2 (15) INT +1 (13) WIS +3 (16) CHA +2 (14)

I used the standard array to generate stats. I tried to assign them in a way that would allow for a strong D&D character while still remaining mostly true to the attributes of the character in the film.

HP 24
AC 13 (leather + shield)
Initiative 0
Speed 30 ft.

Saving throws: Int +3, Wis +5

Skills: Arcana +3, Medicine +5, Perception +5, Religion +3 (For her class skills I gave her Arcana and Perception. With her curious nature I think she would devour any information she could get her hands on about magic, and that moment in the movie when she noticed all the sun motifs in her own paintings was ridiculously perceptive. Medicine and Religion were granted kwa her background.)

Languages: Common, Druidic, Elvish, Gnomish (Her kingdom is near a forested area so it makes sense that her parents might expect her to learn Elvish once she'd returned to the kingdom. And I think Punzie'd just like the quirkiness of gnomes and might try to learn Gnomish in her spare time.)

Tools: Herbalism Kit, Painter's Supplies

Features and Traits

mduara, duara Spells: wewe have formed a bond with a wildfire spirit, a primal being of creation and destruction. Your link with this spirit grants wewe access to some spells when wewe reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the mduara, duara of Wildfire Spells table.

Spells

Modifier: +3
Spell attack: +5
Save DC: 13

Cantrips (at will): Guidance, Shillelagh
1st level (4 slots): Animal Friendship, Burning Hands, Cure Wounds, Entangle, Faerie Fire, Goodberry, Healing Word
2nd level (2 slots): Flaming Sphere, Lesser Restoration, Scorching Ray

Lol I gave her Entangle haha get it? Besides that I tried to give her as many healing spells as I could.

Actions

Club: +1 to hit, 1d4-1 bludgeoning damage

Summon Wildfire Spirit: As an action, wewe can expend one use of your Wild Shape feature to summon your wildfire spirit, rather than assuming a beast form. Each creature within 10 ft. of the spirit (other than you) when it appears must succeed on a DEX saving throw (DC:13) au take 2d6 moto damage. The spirit manifests for 1 hour, until it is reduced to 0 hit points, until wewe summon the spirit again, au until wewe die.

Wild Shape: As an action, wewe can magically assume the shape of a beast that wewe have seen before twice per short rest. [2nd] Max CR 1/4 (no flying au swimming speed). wewe can stay in beast shape for 1 hours before reverting back to your normal form (or as a bonus action earlier au if wewe fall unconscious, drop to 0 hit points, au die).

Bonus Actions

Summon Wildfire Spirit: Command - In combat, the wildfire spirit shares your initiative count, but it takes its turn immediately after yours. The only action it takes on its turn is the Dodge action, unless wewe take a bonus action on your turn to command it to take one of the actions in its stat block au to take the Dash, Disengage, Help, au Hide action.
Armor Class: 13 (natural armor)
Speed: 30 ft., fly 30 ft. (hover)
Flame Seed: Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, range 60 ft., one target wewe can see. Hit: 1d6+2 moto damage.
Fiery Teleportation: The spirit and each willing creature of your choice within 5 ft. of it teleport up to 15 ft. to unoccupied spaces wewe can see. Each creature within 5 ft. of the space that the spirit left must succeed on a DEX saving throw (DC:13) au take 1d6+2 moto damage.

That's it for Rapunzel! I hope wewe enjoyed reading. If wewe have any maswali au opinions I'd upendo to hear them in the comments! See wewe tomorrow with another princess~

You'll notice that characters created around the same time as each other tend to share traits that are maarufu at the time au big with the artist/director/etc who works with them.

However, I'm not here to talk about personalities. Those have already been covered kwa many interesting authors who explore the topics far zaidi effectively than I could. What I want to talk about is common overarching themes I have noticed in each generation of princesses.

Classic Princesses

A common theme with the first three Disney princesses (Snow White, Cinderella, and Aurora) I think is maintaining hope and optimism...

Well, as promised, here my thoughts. Careful, though, I intend to go into great detail about the movie. If wewe haven’t watched it yet, I suggest to leave, au this will ruin the experience for you. I also warn wewe if wewe upendo the movie. For me, it was very much a mixed bag, and I will mostly try to figure out why I wasn’t as Enchanted as I was and still am of my favourite Disney Princess Movies.

1. The Animation

Let’s start with the positive: The uhuishaji is gorgeous! When I saw the scene with the ship sinking in the storm, I kept thinking “wow”. And the snow scenes…let’s put it...

Hi everyone! This makala was an idea I had to showcase some of the current Disney Princess fans. Obviously there are many other mashabiki in this club, but it is impossible to include everyone for various reasons, even though that would be ideal. Each person involved is listed according to their favourite princess, and there is a short summary of that person so we can all get to know each other better. So Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays, and please enjoy!

hujambo guys! For this makala I'm going to go through all the DPs in order and say which of their hairstyles is my favorite. Anna and Elsa will be in this list, but unless wewe think of the length of a braid as a spoiler there probably won't be spoilers. And this is all original movie, no sequels! With all that said, let's start with the list:

Snow White's Red Bow Hairstyle
Snow White only has two hairstyles, this one and the same hair with a blue bow, but I think the bright red color is a good contrast to her hair, and it brings out the red in her lips.

 The receiver
The receiver
I know this is kinda a weird countdown, but here ya go.

10. The Prince
I don't see him giving any wedgies at all. If anything, I think he'd be the one receiving them from everyone else.

9. Prince Charming
Just like with the Prince, I don't see Charming giving any wedgies. He might give the occasional wedgie, but only to the Prince.

8. Prince Phillip
This guy would give so many wedgies to the other two classic princes that it's not funny.

7. Shang
He doesn't always give wedgies, but when he does, wewe better believe that it'll being excruciatingly painful.

I decided to start a series of analyzing the DP Couples in depth (and later, the other Disney Couples) after I got bored one day, and wanted to write a series of articles. wewe can recommend me which couple to do inayofuata in the couples section. So here is how it is going to go. I will first explain my ujumla, jumla statement about the couples in a paragraph, and then I will analyze each scene to look at the inner and outer feelings of the characters individually an the couple itself.

I thought that since Merida has joined that I should talk about the most heroic Disney Princesses. I'll be judging their actions based off not only the original sinema but in the sequels and TV series'. Keep in mind that this is just my opinion and that just because like per say I think they're a damsel in distress and not that heroic doesn't mean that I hate them. Anyway please leave a maoni and enjoy.

Okay I don't like her but I don't hate her and this is kind of part of why I don't like her. First of all her dream is basically to be a damsel in distress, be saved kwa her true...

People say that Ariel never learned a lesson in The Little Mermaid and that she never really was sorry for what she did. I kind of agreed with this until I watched The Little Mermaid last night, and I realized that she does actually learn a lesson.

When people like to defend Ariel, they tend to point to this line:
Daddy, I'm sorry! I - I - I didn't mean to. I didn't know –
However, those who say Ariel doesn’t learn anything say it is only one moment, and that she was really just sorry she got caught.
