Out of these 3 I would say yes.
Cinderella- Again, certainly not! Yes, she stayed. Remember that, in those days, there were no shelters for abused women or any resources for them. And be honest with yourself. If you knew that getting caught escaping would make your life worse than it already is, would you really try it? I'm sure some of you would, but not everyone who gets mad at her for not trying. She stood up for herself against the Tremaines when they said she couldn't go to the ball.
Aurora- Nope. She physically couldn't do anything when Phillip came to rescue her. She had been cursed, she couldn't chose not to touch the spindle- even though, for a second there, she was able so throw it. Also, she chose the most intelligent place to meet with Phillip again, where she had every advantage she could. And on top of that, she consciously chose to leave him to serve as a princess. Was she upset about it? Sure. But she never went back on her decision.
I think Cinderella's fits the "damsel-in-distress" type least out of the three because she does find a way to get her prince (who doesn't put nearly as much effort as the other two do). Though, Cinderella does need help from her friends and Fairy Godmother.
Before Aurora finds out she's a princess, she is waiting to meet somebody, but not necessarily a prince. Though it's not like she wants to or needs to be saved from a nice life with the fairies. When she does accept her role as a princess, she does get upset about not being able to see Phillip again, but again, she's not waiting for him to save her. Though in the end, he does save her and the whole kingdom (with some help from the fairies of course).
Cinderella's prince never actually does anything, Cinderella is the one who makes her dream come true, with a little help from her fairy godmother and animal friends of course.
Aurora is a special case, because she's the only princess who never actually knows that there's a villain after her. Think about it - the curse was placed on her when she was only a tiny baby so she wouldn't remember that, and though the fairies warn her never to talk to strangers we can assume that they never told her there was an evil sorceress out to get her, the only interaction she has with the sorceress is when she's hypnotized, thus she won't remember the interaction once she wakes up. So in reality we have no idea how Aurora would have reacted if she'd been given the chance to fight against her villain. It's possible that she would have just sat around and done nothing, but it's also possible that she would have stolen Phillip's sword and gone and tried to kill her pursuer.
anon was right, they are strong classy women, imo the strongest and classiest =]
It really annoys me how only THEY are seen as damsels when as girlygirls said, each of them received help, ESPECIALLY from a man. At once scene, Mulan was completely at Shang and the army's mercy but he saved her.
Being demure and a guy go out of his way for you =/= being in distress.
