I certainly don't think Belle is "plain", in fact she's a character I really identify with because of her being the odd one out in her "plain" community. Absolutely nothing unusual/attention grabbing about them unless you count coloring, in which case there's Ariel's hair color, which still has nothing to do with features. about Aurora- It's fine if people don't find her that gorgeous but I honestly don't get where people don't see striking qualities. High cheekbones, angular features all around, wide cat eyes, long bouncy hair. these qualities are unique and attract attention, hence, "striking".
