Jim and Melody Swali

How the couple came to be? Aside from the fact Melody is Ariel's daughter and it's a x-over couple is what given...

Jim had been paired with almost every girl au might even some guys in the Disneyverse and outside it and even aliyopewa some Original Characters whether male au female. Launcher of a Thousand Ships, indeed. It doesn't help that his story doesn't have getting the girl. The most maarufu is always Ariel from the Little Mermaid. Personally, I don't like Jariel, but I accepted people like it. I'm just curious why people pair many girls/guys with Jim...

Jim and Melody Majibu

This may get long so sorry in advance lol. Probably the main reason why some people DON’T like this couple is because of the “age difference”. In Melody’s movie she is 12 and Jim is 15 in his movie (not 17 as some would like to believe). Let’s face it though as they get older those 3 years won’t matter. Also Melody’s movie came out in 2000 while Jim’s came out in 2002. Technically Melody would have been 14 during Jim’s movie. If wewe look at it that way then the age thing shouldn’t be a problem.

My personal reasons for liking JiMel is because Jim is my inayopendelewa Disney human hero (Simba is my inayopendelewa Disney animal hero, but that’s another topic for another siku lol) and Melody is my inayopendelewa Disney heroine/princess. I put the slash there because she is the heroine of her own movie/story and she is technically a princess even though she isn’t a part of the Disney Princess franchise. I’m not gonna lie, but I had/have a crush on Jim since I first saw Treasure Planet in 2002. I was twelve years old and I was instantly smitten with his bad boyish attitude and the angst he was putting off. Honestly I think that’s why people (mainly girls) ship him with a lot of characters. He’s a bad boy with a good moyo and it doesn’t help that “I’m Still Here” the song for the movie was PERFECT for him and probably a lot of other teens at that time. We felt for Jim. In the short time that the movie took place, he found himself and we connected with him. When it comes to Melody I saw a lot of myself in her. Before I ever even heard of her and her movie, Ariel was one of my inayopendelewa Disney princesses because I ALWAYS wanted to be a mermaid. Only thing was I felt Ariel had it backwards. I’d prefer to be in the sea than to being on land. So when Melody was introduced as basically having the opposite dream of Ariel, I felt an instant connection with her. Besides my biased reasons for this ship, I also think people like them together because they are similar in a lot of ways. They like adventure and want to see and explore places that are far from their grasp at the beginning of the movie, and for the most part are in their element when they do go to those places. Therefore, that’s why most people think they would get along so well as a couple au at least best Marafiki (which would probably turn romantic anyway).

I don’t like Jim/Ariel either mainly because it’s overused. Also if wewe wanna talk age then Ariel is older than Jim kwa one year. Ariel looks mature in body, but she doesn’t really act it. Besides I think she would be zaidi interested in Jim’s world than Jim himself if they were to meet. But that’s just my opinion. :)

I don't mind long answers. I give them myself when I want to give explanations. See my FF.net profaili under the jina la mtumiaji CLAMP

That's cool :) Oh! Also as a follow up to what I said. According to Disney wiki. Prince Adam (Beast) was 21 and Belle is 17. Wider age different there and no one seems to care but oh well.

Sorry, I didn't reply correctly. It's CLAMP Full Metal Heart. People didn't much care for the age difference between Belle and Adam because it's well Beauty and the Beast. This is a different case for which two characters would never met and is never a fairytale in the first place. I had an aversion for something that is overused/hyped/rated. That's why TS3 and Jariel put me off.
