The inayofuata day, Una and Everett went to the hotel lobby for breakfast. "Look at all the tropical matunda they serve here!" Una alisema as they approached the buffet.
Everett smiled to see her enthusiasm. He had woken up this morning still a little worried. He helped her to fill up her plate, piled high as usual, and carry it to the table.
"Let's go swimming today," Una alisema as they sat down. "I can't wait to see the beach!"
"It looks a bit cloudy," Everett pointed out, glancing uneasily at the sky. "Maybe we should plan an indoor activity for today. We could probably reach a shopping centre before the rain hits."
"It's cloudy now," Una agreed. "But I'm sure it'll pass kwa the time we're finished eating. I did want to go swimming our first day!"
"Well, okay," Everett agreed. "I wouldn't mind swimming today myself."
They finished their breakfast, lingering over the meza, jedwali as they talked and laughed. When they had finished around an saa later, they went to their hotel room to change into their swim clothes. Everett glanced uneasily out the window as Una decided which mkufu would look best with her white lacy beach, pwani coverup. It was even greyer and gloomier out there than before.
"It'll clear up," Una assured him. "Come on, let's go see the beach!"
It was windy out, and baridi than either of them has expected it to be on their trip to Florida. The air was a bit damp, and the beach, pwani was almost empty.
"We have it all to ourselves!" alisema Una happily.
Everett glanced at the sky. "I'm not surprised... Maybe we shouldn't go in the water just yet."
Una shrugged. "Oh, okay. We'll wait until it clears up. I'm sure it won't be...."
Before she could finish her sentence, the skies opened up and the rain began to pour.

One day, when Una came nyumbani from school, her mother asked, "Did wewe have a good day, dear?" Una said, "Yes, Mother. Everyone loved my speech in my public speaking class." Mrs. Stratton said, "That's nice." After a pause, she said, "Today was the deadline to apply for college. Have wewe done that?" Una replied, "No, Mother." Mrs Stratton was enraged upon hearing this. "Why not? Una, wewe need to secure your future. How do wewe think I got my job as an accountant?!" Una said, "Mother, I don't want a boring dawati job. I want to entertain people. I want to see my name in lights." Mrs. Stratton said,...

Ever since she could remember, Una Stratton had loved to act, and she had loved to have an audience.
She was the first to volunteer to read anything aloud au speak in front of the class in school, and she was well known there for her loud, clear, confident voice. She would make big, sweeping gestures as she did, and made sure to emote even if she was kusoma a textbook page. She loved to pretend she was the main character in her favourite vitabu and sinema and TV shows, and she would set up her stuffed wanyama to represent the other roles for her, au later enlist some Marafiki to round out the...

Hi, everyone. Antonia here, and I found these summer tag questions. Since the unofficial end of summer is approaching, I thought it would be appropriate to do this questionnaire. Feel free to do this yourself.

1. Are wewe a summer person? Definitely!

2. What is your inayopendelewa thing about the summer? My inayopendelewa thing is the longer daylight hours. I wish Daylight Savings Time would never end.

3. Do wewe stay indoors au outdoors zaidi in the summer? It's an equal amount of both.

4. What is your inayopendelewa ice cream flavor? It used to be strawberry, but now it is Ben & Jerry's karanga siagi Half Baked....

Uncle Bruce was waiting up for Anjanette when she got nyumbani later that night. "I saw your appearance on TV, Anjanette. wewe did well."
Anjanette blushed with pleasure. It made her feel better to know that one of the many, many people who had seen her up there was her uncle, someone who was rooting for her no matter what. "Thanks, Uncle Bruce. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be."
Uncle Bruce nodded knowingly. "Yes. I know wewe were scared, but wewe came through for your Marafiki anyway. I'm proud of you."
Anjanette beamed. "I'm glad it all worked out for them. Now Les and Jimmy can just be friends...

Noticing that Anjanette was about to fall off the stage, Ferdinand rushed to her aid. He managed to catch her before her head could hit the floor. With Becky's help, he managed to pull his best friend to safety. Anjanette looked around and saw her Marafiki looking concerned. Ferdinand asked, "Are wewe okay?" She was too shaken up to answer him. Becky said, "Come on, Anjanette. Talk to us." Anjanette took a deep breath. She said, "Yeah, I'm okay." Ferdinand gave her a hug. The audience cheered. Becky said, "You see, everyone, Ferdinand was only concerned about Anjanette. They're best friends....

Anjanette's knees were shaking. She could hear her Marafiki beside her, chatting in low tones, and beyond that, the crowd's cheers and the sounds of A Wave Tossed In the Ocean out on the stage, greeting their live audience. Henry, the band's manager, had arranged for a live chat with mashabiki which would also be livestreamed on the group's social media channels, and they had announced their new Marafiki would make a special appearance. The band hadn't mentioned what the topic of this meeting would be yet, so that the mashabiki wouldn't have a chance to convince themselves in advance that Les and Jimmy...

That evening, after Anjanette had finished volunteering at the rescue center for the day, A Wave Tossed in the Ocean invited her, Ferdinand, Tammy, and Becky to dinner. Les said, "I'm sure wewe know what this is about." Ferdinand said, "You mean the rumor that wewe and Jimmy are in upendo and getting married?" Jimmy said, "Yeah." Les said, "We were wondering if wewe could help us put an end to this rumor." Tammy said, "But we don't know how." Anjanette added, "It is a tall order." Jimmy said, "Hey, you're tall!" Everyone laughed. Becky said, "I know. Ferdinand and I are actually a couple." Ferdinand...

The fans' new theory of Les and Jimmy being in upendo quickly spread through social media channels, muziki lover's forums, and A Wave Tossed In the Ocean shabiki sites. But the band members themselves remained completely unaware of the rumours until a week au so later, at a maswali and majibu press conference. The conference started out pretty normal for the four boys. Reporters crowded into the room all asking their maswali at once, Charles was constantly smoothing his hair and trying to catch the attention of the many cameras, Felix was hanging back but answering every swali quite politely...

Not long after the conclusion of A Wave Tossed in the Ocean's first tour, Les and Jimmy decided to go play at the park with Venus and Mars. The two were having a blast when suddenly, Jimmy tripped and fell. Les was deeply concerned. He rushed to Jimmy's side and asked, "Jimmy, are wewe okay?" Jimmy was shaken up and could only reply, "I don't know!" Les asked, "Where does it hurt?" Jimmy said, "My knee." Les said, "Let me see it." Les examined Jimmy's hurt knee and said, "It's only a scratch. I think you're going to be okay." Les then gave Jimmy a hug, unaware that some mashabiki were watching nearby....

Hi, everyone! Antonia here, and as most of wewe know, Paul and I, along with our families, moved to Colorado last week. We have been focused on settling in, so I'm going to discuss how we feel about it.

The air in Colorado is thin, so it took some getting used to. We got slightly sick from not being used to the thin air. Don't worry; it didn't last long. With plenty of rest and fluids, we were back to ourselves within twenty-four hours.

The neighborhood has a great view of the mountains. The Rockies remind me of the Great Smoky Mountains, but they're taller. To put this into perspective, the...

Anjanette and her Marafiki had a fabulous time at the A Wave Tossed In the Ocean concert. The tickets Henry had gotten for them were for the very front row. They were close enough to see the band members' faces, and they even saw Jimmy wink at them from his drum set.
A Wave Tossed In the Ocean played a mixture of sixties and seventies rock hits and their own original songs, these last mostly written kwa Les and Felix (they often announced who wrote the song they were playing or, in the case of covers, what made them decide to include it in their repertoire). The crowd danced and cheered and sang...

Blitz led Anjanette and her Marafiki and A Wave Tossed in the Ocean through many twists and turns. Les said, "Oh, my! How long did Venus chase that squirrel?!" Jimmy said, "I don't know. I hope we're close." Just then, Blitz made a sudden stop near a river. Jimmy said, "She must've gotten into the river." Felix then noticed a shape floating in the river. He said, "Look there!" Jimmy gasped. "Oh, my gosh! Venus!" Ferdinand pushed to the front and said, "I'll get her!" He plunged into the river to save her. He held onto her and got her to shore. Mars ran up to his companion. He began licking her,...

As Anjanette and her Marafiki hurried along towards the sound of the voices, she thought she could see the silhouettes of four men in the distance, and as they got closer, she couldn't help thinking they looked vaguely familiar. But she wasn't sure why she thought that until Tammy gave a loud squeal. "Oh my gosh! It's A Wave Tossed In the Ocean!!!"
Anjanette's eyes grew wide. It really was them... There was Les and Jimmy and Charles and Felix, walking along and calling for someone named Venus while Jimmy held the leash of another dog, a big but friendly-looking one who stopped at Tammy's voice...

When Anjanette came home, she decided to ask her uncle about tamasha tickets. She asked, "Uncle Bruce, can I ask wewe something?" He said, "Sure, Anjanette. Anything." She said, "You see, this new band I was talking about, A Wave Tossed in the Ocean, is coming into town soon for a concert. I know wewe alisema money has been tight lately, but it would mean the world to me, especially since I'd get to go with my friends. Can I go, please?" He said, "Well, I'll look at the ticket prices first." He looked online. He said, "They do seem awfully expensive. I'm sorry, Anjanette." She sighed and said, "That's...

A few days later, Anjanette was walking her mbwa Misty and Blitz through the park, with Tammy keeping them company. It was a slow, peaceful day, with Misty and Blitz stopping constantly to sniff at things, and Tammy often taking the opportunities to pet them. Tammy always loved playing with other people's pets even though she still alisema she didn't think she was the right person to own one herself.
A voice called out to them, breaking the stillness, and the girls turned to see Ferdinand and Becky hurrying towards them.
"Girls!" cried Becky, before Ferdinand had alisema a word, "you'll never guess...

Anjanette and her Marafiki were hanging out at her house. They were having a sleepover. Ferdinand said, "You all should check out this new band. They're called A Wave Tossed in the Ocean." Tammy said, "That sounds interesting. Why did they call themselves that?" He said, "I'm not sure. Maybe they'll reveal that in their first interview." Becky said, "I like the name. It sounds very psychedelic." Anjanette said, "That's exactly what I was thinking." Becky said, "Good minds think alike." Ferdinand placed the record into the record player. It was a wonderful sound. It's not very common to find young people interested in that type of music." Les said, "Thank you. Would wewe like an autograph?" The older man laughed. "No, actually, that's not why I'm here. Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Henry, and I've always wanted to manage a band. wewe are so good, wewe deserve to be playing zaidi than just clubs." Charles said, "You mean we should be playing in large venues like theaters?" Henry said,...

During the week, Jimmy's dad had agreed to go get the front of his son's bass, besi drum painted. The drum now proudly displayed the group's new name.
Les started them off with a riff, and the others followed right in, Charles and Felix keeping rhythm and sometimes playing off each other and doing something zaidi daring and fancy, Jimmy keeping time on his...

The inayofuata morning, Jimmy got a call from both Charles and Felix. He gave them directions to his nyumbani so that they could have a jam, jamu session. Jimmy went into the guest bedroom, where Les was sleeping. Jimmy shook Les at the shoulder and said, "Les! Wake up! Charles and Felix are going to be here soon." Les let out a groan. Jimmy said, "I know wewe don't want to wake up when you're sleeping good, but wewe want to be awake for a jam, jamu session, don't you?" Les opened his eyes and got out of bed. After a quick breakfast, they heard the doorbell ring. Jimmy's mother answered the door. Charles and Felix...

"Great show, guys." The boy who looked older put out his hand and smiled. "We were in the audience. I'm Felix."
"I haven't seen an act this good in a while," the younger boy added. He, too, put out his hand, and shakes were exchanged all round. "I'm Charles - the guitar, gitaa King," he added with a little grin. "And you're good enough to be another...
