Chapter 4~ I have good News
[Two years have passed since Sasuke’s and Sakura’s wedding].
Sasuke had been away for seven months on business. But he was coming back tonight. Sakura smiled at the thought.
She was dressed in the baby blue Chinese dress; Sasuke had gifted her last mwaka on their anniversary. She looked as beautiful as she had back then, even more, actually – her face had a proud and happy glow and her pink-hair was pulled back in a loose bun – so as to let her curls fall around and frame her face.
Sakura looked at her reflection and smiled. She looked at her visibly swollen belly. ‘I wonder how Sasuke will react,’ she thought with a happy sigh.
Just then, the doorbell rang. ‘He’s come—think of the devil,’ Sakura thought, laughing softly.
“Coming,” she called out, and practically flew down the stairs.
Sasuke entered the house, looking tired but happy. He was wearing a business suit as black as his eyes, with a white shati under.
“Welcome back dear,” alisema Sakura alisema smiling.
He smiled back. “It’s great to be back,” he said, looking at her. She looked positively gorgeous in the dress.
It makes me want to carry her to the bed, he thought, but she looked a little different. He couldn’t understand why... his tired brain working too slow to comprehend.
“Sasuke –” she began.
Sasuke raised his hand to stop her words. “Sakura, wewe look beautiful – and wewe seem to be glowing. Is it just because I’m back au is there something I should know?”
Sakura bit her lower lip and smiled happily as she walked up to him.
“Well Mr. Uchiha, it’s both,” she alisema rising on her toes and kissing him on his cheek.
He grabbed her shoulders, and looked into her sea green eyes. Sakura looked down and put a hand on her stomach. Sasuke looked at her hand. And he saw – her flat belly was visibly swollen. He looked back at her face, his eyes asking the unsaid question.
Sakura nodded slowly. Sasuke pulled her to his chest. Sakura wrapped her arms around him. They stood there, like that for quite a while—neither saying a word.
Then, suddenly, Sasuke lifted her – honeymoon style, and walked to the living room, where he placed her on the couch. Then he knelt on one knee on the floor before her. Sakura pulled him closer and kissed him. Sasuke’s hands caressed her thighs and wrapped around her waist. He raised himself on the kitanda and leaned back gently, so that she was lying on the couch. He pulled away to look at her.
“I upendo you,” he said. “I upendo wewe and wewe make me so happy.”
“I upendo wewe too,” Sakura said.
Sasuke smiled and leaned down to kiss the hollow below her neck. Then, he got up pulling Sakura with him.
Her loose bun had opened, as a result of which all her hair had tumbled down.
Sasuke took a loose strand and twirling it, put it behind Sakura’s ear.
“You’re beautiful, wewe know?” he alisema gently.
Sakura nodded shyly and averted her gaze away from her face. We’ve been married two years and he still makes me feel this way, she thought, a smile playing on her lips.
Sasuke cupped her face in both his hands, “my angel.”
And he pulled Sakura to his chest.
“I upendo wewe so much,” he whispered, his voice husky with emotion.
Sakura looked up at him. Silent tears rolled down his face. She got up and placed a hand on his cheek, wiping away the tears.
“Sasuke-kun, what’s wrong?” she asked, her dripping with concern.
He looked at her. “Nothing,” he said. “It’s just... it’s just... I –” he stopped.
Sakura kissed both his tear- stained cheeks and put her head on his shoulder. Looking up, lovingly, she said: “You?”
Sasuke smiled. “I’m just so happy Sakura... I never knew I could feel this happy... didn’t think anyone could make me so happy,” he kissed her head. “And wewe just keep making me happier.... You’re like some undeserved I have gotten... I’m so –”
He couldn’t continue for Sakura had silenced him with a kiss. She moved away.
“Undeserved, wewe say? Sasuke, I can’t believe I need to tell this... I haven’t been aliyopewa to wewe kwa anyone — I was always yours.”
Sasuke nodded, a small smile on his lips. He rose slightly and kissed her on her cheek. Then, he placed his lips on hers – not kissing her, not in a possessive way neither in a sweet way; but as though it was meant to be.
“Mine,” he alisema to her softly. Sakura nodded, “For always.”
Then he pulled away and lay down on the couch. Sakura lay down on juu of him, her head near his heart. Sasuke wrapped his arms around her — holding her the way, one would hold a new born baby.
“For the record,” he said. “How long has it been since...?”
“Seven months,” she alisema after a little while.
Sasuke let out a sigh of contentment and nodded. Then he shut his eyes.
After a few minutes, his breathing and his heartbeat became rhythmic. Sakura realized he had fallen asleep.
He must be tired from the trip, she thought. And from all that useless pent-up guilt... Silly boy, she smiled.
She closed her own eyes and soon fell asleep to the lullaby that was Sasuke’s heartbeat.
