A raven. Dark, mysterious, sinister, sarcastic, but really very intelligent, loyal, talented and graceful. Ravens are dramatic and stylish, but sometimes can be intimidating. They've always had a mystical meaning to them. Something deeper that the outside will never see. He swoops down on his "prey" (Potter, etc) and mocks them. He can even fly, as seen in book seven. He even looks like a raven -- black hair, hooked nose, small, black beady eyes. I also adore the buibui idea! Quiet, lurking, scheming, but ready to bite to kill if needed. Talented, but overlooked. Extremely secretive, and mysterious. Very scary. Seen as evil, feared kwa all, but good in the deepest, darkest part of himself. The doe is romantic, but I can't see him as a doe at all. Lily was a doe. Not him. His Patronus was a doe, but that wasn't a representation of himself, it was his way of keeping Lily close to him. Deer are skittish, but elegant and sophisticated, and they've got a prey mindset. I could go on. I don't see how any part of the doe fits him personally. Lily was mostly a doe because she was married to the stag, I think. It fits her a lot, except that she seems waaayy bitchy for it, in my opinion. But I know JKR didn't think she was such. Bat is cool, but something about it just doesn't click to him for me. Idk why, even the vitabu refer to him as an overgrown bat. Perhaps because I think of him with a "swooping" motion, rather than the erratic, flitting flight pattern of a bat..? Not such a great reason, though. Lots of people think he's like a panther. Panthers are cats, curious, playful, proud and full of themselves. I think Snape isn't full of himself, but rather self-loathing, no matter how superior he may appear. Just my take on it. :)
