I jumped on the Taylor mwepesi, teleka bandwagon in 2009, when I was introduced to her muziki for the first time on school bus kwa a classmate. I was immediately smitten and would continue to be a shabiki all the way to the present. It seems strange to me that it has already been so long since then, and that there are four zaidi studio albums since the siku I first heard Taylor’s voice.
