-What To Live By-
Four young gents from Liverpool once told me, "The upendo wewe Make Is Equal To The upendo wewe Take." And in retrospect, they couldn't be any zaidi right. Many people try to live kwa one philosophy, like "Give and wewe shall receive," au "There are no foolish questions, only foolish people." Bt, in reality, this is not a soap box makala about philosophies to live by, but how one rock group changed my life forever.

-The Early Stages-
Rock muziki has never been a stranger to me, since I have experienced it since my dad first blasted Springsteen on my way nyumbani from the hospital. I can sing wewe lyrics from "The Rising", "Born in the USA" and countless others. But, even though I spent the early years of my childhood belting out Joe Cocker and Elvis, I never felt like I discovered rock muziki until I entered Junior High. kwa that time, I was discovering zaidi and zaidi bands. A friend of mine who had moved from California, introduced me to AC/DC, Led Zeppelin and AeroSmith. I was amazed at the pure joy of the music. This is what grew my foundations for rock.

-Who Are You-
No other band, (excluding the Fab Four) has ever influenced me like The Who. Pete Townshend, Roger Daltey, ad the rest of them, they showed me a whole new side of Wasted Teenagers and Pinball Wizards. They showed me a side that I had not yet experienced and I loved it. I began to buy their songs on Itunes, listen to them before bed, and all out worship them. I mouthed the lyrics whenever I was bored, and tried to get my friend into them, which I did. The who opened up a side of muziki to me that I had never yet gone through. I thought them to be the one true rock god. Then, a fewmonths later, my dad came nyumbani from the mall, with a copy of Abbey Road.

-BeatleMania-
At first, if wewe can believe it, The Beatles were just another cool rock band to me, where wewe listened to them on the radio, but wewe didn't blast it. I liked htme didn; upendo them. wewe get the drift, they were good, not great in my book. So my life went on for a while, like this, until about 8th grade. That was the mwaka that, of course, I got my first ipod and along with it, recieved a copy of Sgt. Peppers. I was amazed kwa the songs, the vocals, and just basically the music. from there on out, I was obsessed with the group. I was plugged into my ipod at school, listening to them at nyumbani on my computer, and then on my boombox before I went to bed. The Beatles had totally caught me kwa suprise, but there was no way I was letting them go.

-And In the End-
The Beatles have touched me in a way that I couldn't possibly explain. It hit me like a bus going 50, and since then I have never gotten off. I will always upendo the four gents from Liverpool, and that's how it is going to stay. I know that I will experience other amazing music, but wewe never forget the basics.
