Are wewe stuck in a story? Are wewe going around and around, getting deeper and deeper into details? Does your story have a life of it's own? Do wewe "live" in it constantly? Do wewe spend your time telling everyone about your story? Are wewe busy validating that your story is true? Is it difficult for wewe to find a way out? If wewe answered "yes" to most of these maswali then wewe are probably stuck in your story.
As a coach, I see this all of the time. Some clients have become so stuck that they can't think of anything but their story - it is all-consuming. That's rough because when wewe can't see anything but the story, wewe can't see a way out. The first thing wewe need to do when wewe realize wewe are stuck in a story is to name it. "I am stuck in my story about _____." Then let someone else know wewe recognize wewe are stuck and that wewe are going to work to get out of it.
It's time to ask some good questions:
Why is this story so important to you?
What benefit do wewe get from holding on to this story?
What do wewe believe about this story?
How do wewe know your beliefs are accurate?
How are your beliefs impacted kwa your perceptions?
What will happen if wewe continue to hold on to your story?
What will happen if wewe let it go au change your beliefs about it?
orodha some beliefs and actions that would be zaidi empowering than the ones wewe hold about your story.
wewe have a choice now: a) hang on to your story and stay stuck au b) adopt a zaidi empowering and enabling way to deal with it.
What are three steps wewe can take to break free of your story?
When will wewe do them?
How will wewe know when wewe are successful?
How will wewe hold yourself accountable?
Who au what can help wewe accomplish your new goal?
What did wewe learn from this experience?
Once wewe are out of your story be careful wewe don't fall into a new one.
