@hatelarxene, the whole point of a fandom is being able to express your opinion while respectfully responding to others and respectfully disagreeing if you do. It'll be great to discuss the more important lessons we learn from the DP's such as feminism. People on this specific page of Fanpop tend to be pretty respectful.

There could be a shitstorm and there definitely would be if it was another platform, but people talking about princesses tend to be pretty mellow even if they disagree. It's just that the princesses are not feminist at all. Feminism is this unlikable political/social movement, and very few women in the US or UK support it.

Sorry I deleted and edited it instead of editing ^^
Just the sense that not many women support it. It's only about 20% in the US and 7% in the UK. People don't like whining, man-hating, poor arguments, denial of facts, or tastelessness.

I'm a feminist, and so are 90% of the people I know. I live in the US. Also, feminism isn't about man-hating, it's about equality.

Most of the people who discuss feminism on here do so sensibly, not in a man-hating fashion. There'll only be a shitstorm if someone chooses to make one, and to be honest I don't care if there is one, it's just debating ideas.

Feminists have made it about man-hating. The only equality people should get is equal rights under the law. Feminists want equality of outcome, which is a bad type of equality.

lmao; citation needed.

"The only equality people should get is equal rights under the law."

that's nice, except it isn't, and it's also literally just your opinion. any 21st century society worth its salt pursues social equality, not just legal equality - there's a reason why "separate but equal" schools aren't a thing anymore. and like...as long as there are laws restricting a woman's autonomy over her own body, women really don't have legal equality either. so: yay feminism.

yeah but anyway this is gonna be fun ;)

There are no laws restricting bodily autonomy. I mean I think you're not technically allowed to starve yourself or sell your organs but you know lol. The only violation of autonomy I see is male babies being circumcised. Female genital cutting is illegal but it's legal for males. That's not equal legal rights.

Well duh. Being for or against feminism is literally just an opinion.

Social equality is really harmful because it pretends men and women are the same and forcing them away from their nature instead of being fair and appreciating valuable differences.
You don't have to watch this but this explains it well and it's new and relevant.

If the link doesn't work it's called Jordan Peterson debate on the gender pay gap, campus protests and postmodernism on Channel 4 News.

@princesslullaby This is why feminism is such a joke ahah. I like you though. Not paying one gender the same as the other is illegal and has been illegal for a long time. Yes, biology exists. Males and females have a different nature.

lmao quishy do you even read the links you post? because they actually debunk what you're trying to use them to prove. (and only one link works btw)

most people support societal and legal equality for women - aka, literally feminism - even if they don't use the term.
just like if i own a shitload of disney merch and watch all the dp movies and spend lots of time talking about it on fanpop, i'm a disney fan whether or not i call myself one.

Well duh. Being for or against feminism is literally just an opinion.

cool, only i was talking about your weirdo idea that people should only aim for legal equality, which is literally not how it ever works in the real world. social change drives legal change. civil rights, gay rights, women's suffrage - those only became legally codified because people got out and made noise over them.

also, the thing about bodily autonomy was definitely about abortion - as long as women don't get complete 100% control over their own bodies like men do, they don't even have the same legal rights as men.

we appreciate your commitment to showing us how stupid and out of touch with reality anti-feminist arguments are, but you can stop now. we get it.

anyway, feminist!disney poll idea - which dp is most likely to punch a men's rights activist in the mouth?

@UnholyNoise The link says people believe in gender equality but not feminism, because we know they are two different things. Read the whole article lol.

You're trying to imagine that the feminist movement consisted of a bunch of women who disagree with feminist arguments. Nice.

We already have legal rights, but for some reason feminism still sticks around. They are not fighting for rights. It's just a bunch of misinformed people who like to whine about something.

You don't have bodily autonomy over someone else's body wtf lol.

Yeah another problem with feminism. They make it victims versus oppressors. Feminism is about the Marxist type of equality. Real gender equality is legal rights and being treated fairly.

it's almost like you don't know how to form arguments without completely lying about what other people are telling you.

you do know that words have, like.. definitions and shit, right? if you agree with feminist aims and worldview, then you're feminist whether or not you identify as one.

@quishy11 I can kind of understand your stance here (sort of). There was a brief period in my life where I too thought that all feminists were "crazy man haters". (Ugh, I shudder to think of that phase, thank god I grew out of it.) Anyways, I eventually realized that what I thought of as "feminists" were actually a small group of very loud radical feminists whose voices were magnified thanks to the internet. Most feminists just want social and legal equality and just general respect for all genders, but especially women because there is such a long history of misogyny in our society. Social equality is very important and definitely something we should strive for. As UnholyNoise said, "separate but equal" has been proven not to work.

Anyhoo, top Disney incels, let's see...
5. Shi Fu
4. Ratcliffe
3. Jafar
2. Mole
1. Frollo (yeah he kinda takes the cake here)

How is Lawrence an incel? I don't remember him trying to pick up any girls...

@MaidofOrleans Yeah I know what you mean. I understand other opinions and I won't rag on them because I used to support feminism. Then I saw and met the feminists haha. I learned about the arguments, I listened to it directly from the "good" feminists. I realized I don't agree with them at all and I actually really dislike what they're saying and how they're treating people. And even when I used to agree with them I couldn't explain it much... I thought it was the thing I was supposed to say. It was a shallow view and I didn't bother to look into the other side. Then I finally did and it's much better now.
