 The ferry
The ferry
(June 27, 2011)

After the ticket, and the near savage mauling of the cop kwa Kate, the trip was as boring as could be. The endless miles trickled by, almost imperceptibly. In an effort to entertain my canine passengers, I started a game of "Guess the song". Scar, knowing my tastes, got most of them, but Kate got a fair number of them too, mostly easy listening like country. It was hilarious seeing the two of them fight over the songs that they both recognized, but with zaidi than twelve hundred songs on my iPhone, we had a whole bunch to pick from.
Some of my newer purchases were got kwa no one.

When we finally made it to Gulf Shores, au Fort Morgan, technically, it was nearing 3 o'clock. There was a ferry that would shuttle cars over to the island that was named Gulf Shores, but the line was 53 cars long and the ferries could only carry 28 cars at once. To make things worse, they only had departures every 45 minutes. We sat there, in line, engine idling and windows down. It was really annoying. kwa the time I was ready to skip the ferry and just drive a little farther, it was too late. The two abreast line of cars waiting for the ferry was hemmed in on both sides kwa a concrete barricade topped kwa a chain link fence.
Just to relieve some tension, I laid on the horn. The honk multiplied until a vast majority of the cars in the line were all honking at everyone else.
At the end of the dock was a small, stilted booth where chakula and drinks were available for purchase. I took orders for 3 root beers, a hot dog, and two burgers. Keeping that at the front of my mind, I trotted down the aisle in the sweltering heat. Sweat was dampening my hair kwa the time I got to the end.
I made the purchase and brought it all back to the car.
I made sure I told them to be careful and we ate our food.

An saa au so later, we finally managed to get on the ferry. We were the first on, so we were at the front of the line to get off at the island.

The ferry ride was what you'd expect; slow, steady, and a little dull. I got several high fives on the car, a few handshakes, and one fist bump.

At a quarter past 5 in the afternoon, Scar and I finally pulled into the driveway of the house that we had rented for five days. It was a small house propped up on ten foot high stilts, like most buildings here.
We unpacked the car, au rather, I unpacked the car while Kate and Scar went swimming in the ocean. We had a beachfront property, so we were gonna take full advantage off it.

Later that night, I helped Scar and Kate clean up and we went out to a nice place called The Steamer for seafood. Scar particularly liked the shrimp.

A soft rap on the door sent every mbwa mwitu in the room instantly on edge. I waved them down and glanced through the peep hole. Standing there was my help.
I swung the door wide and grinned. Penny, Bolt, Trudy Chacon, Mittens, and Rhino were all there, standing on my porch.
I hugged the girls, petted Bolt on the head, and picked up the cat and the hamster.
"Glad wewe guys could come," I said.
"Wouldn't miss it!" alisema Penny and Trudy at the same time.
"Hey, Colb, I brought a couple others. One's a sniper. He's one of the best shots I've ever seen, can shoot the dust off your...

(Sorry this is such a short chapter. The inayofuata one is going to be far longer. BTW, the romance starts soon enough.)

3 days after that fateful flight where Scar and I became one, I decided to ask her to songesha in with me. I had been arguing with myself the whole three days about it and I couldn't get her out of my mind.
"Hey, babe."
"What's up, Colby?" she said.
"I've got some good news," I alisema happily.
"You're not coming up here, are you?" she said, sounding a bit worried. Her maoni was surprising.
"I wasn't planning to til later, why?" I alisema slowly.
"Oh whew," she said. "I just...

Chapter 2: Excited

The night, Angelica woke up to thumping. She woke John because she didn’t know what it was.
“John, do wewe hear that?” she alisema frantically.
“Yeah, it could be the neighbors digging bones,” John replied.
There was zaidi thumping and it wasn’t the sound of digging. John got out of kitanda and went to check it out. “I’ll be right back, I’m going to see what that noise is.”
“Be careful, don’t get hurt.”
“I won’t.”
John went to where the sound was coming from. He inspected the back part of the den. Nothing here, he thought I wonder if the pango is just...
