I woke up Early. Still dark outside. I climbed down my ladder and walked groggily to the bathroom with my jeans, T-shirt, hairbrush and deodorant.
After I got dressed and was ready to go I went back to my room to get Bret, BJ, and Britnee up.
“Wake up now!” I yelled and BJ and Bret sprang up and ran tot the bathroom but Britnee lye in the kitanda unmoving.
“Wake up now!” I yelled right in her ear. Then I didn’t want to do this but I tapped into her mind and woke her up.
“Hey! That’s not fair! I was having a great dream!” She yelled sleepily.
“Britnee! Be quiet wewe yelled louder than I did!” I hissed at her.
“Okay, okay are they done yet?” Just as she alisema it they walked through the door.
“Hurry up.” Bret commanded, and Britnee obeyed grabbing her clothes quickly and running to the bathroom.
When she finally came out we headed out the front door running to the forest.
CHAPTER ONE
New pack in town.
“It feels nice to shift.” I sad as we ran to the meadow.
The wind whipped right through my fur, manyoya and it felt great!
Bret, and BJ were behind me, there black fur, manyoya looked cool and so did Britnee’s grey and white fur.
But I loved my black and white fur, manyoya the best.
I wished I could have ran longer but it was time to go wait for mine and Britnee’s turn for patrol.
Bret took BJ and went for his first patrol so I just shifter and went to go lay in a kitanda of nyasi while I waited.
“I’m bored.” Britnee complained.
“Me too.”
“Want to play, Do wewe know your best friend?”
“Sure.”
What’s my inayopendelewa color?” She asked the first question.
“Green. What’s mine?”
“Secretly purple but your cover is a shade darker than navy blue.”
“What are my inayopendelewa foods?” I asked.
“Anything Mom cooks. What’s my nenosiri for my computer?”
“Grey-Wolf.” I answered. I was the only one My sister trusted her passwords with.
Mya someone is coming today and they will be ours. Carol alisema then drifted off.
What? I asked but my mbwa mwitu had already faded away inside me.
“Hello? Mya to earth! Mya to earth here!” Britnee alisema loudly while waving her hand in front of my face.
“Sorry Carol distracted me. What?” I asked with a frown.
“I asked what your dream what your dream was about?”
“Oh…” I trailed off. “Well, I was running and I was being chased and when they caught up it was a black mbwa mwitu with dark blue eye’s but it wasn’t trying to hurt me it was trying to help me.”
“Oh, Okay mine was about an island and it was surrounded kwa Dr. pepper water and the island was made of candy.” She said, then went silent and dropped the subject.
Three hours later when the sun was finally up it was seven-thirty and Bret and BJ came back and me and Britnee headed out.
We were silent the whole time. Till we found tracks.
“Oh Sh-talking mushrooms!” I almost yelled though my mind to Britnee.
“Follow the tracks and see where they lead.” Britnee alisema nose to the ground following the trail of mixed scents and tracks in the mud.
I did the same.
We stopped at a clearing where the trail ended and something else began.
Five Mbwa mwitu loups lay asleep in the grass.
The first one that I saw was Black. The other four were white, a tan sand color, grey, and brown.
“We have to go now!” Britnee commanded through her mind.
Then we ran as fast as we could back to the meadow.
CHAPTER TWO
New Marafiki
We ran as fast as we could.
“Keep going!” Britnee yelled through her mind at me.
“I am!” I yelled back.
Then we quickened and ran even faster than that.
We finally got back and shifted and ran back to BJ and Bret.
“Bret!” I panted. “There are five zaidi mtu-bweha in a clearing about two miles up in the forest!”
“Okay, okay calm down-” Bret was cut off kwa Howling.
“SH-talking mushrooms!” I yelled.
“Okay brace yourselves and be ready to fight!” Bret alisema shifting and in a defensive stance in front of us.
The rest of us shifter and formed a line. “There’s five of them and four of us!” I said.
“We’ll be fine.” Bret said.
We waited till we could here there footsteps. They came through the trees in defensive mode.
The sand colored one came first, then the Black one, then on the right the white one, and the Grey and brown one behind.
“Why are wewe in our territory?” Bret growled the swali at the leader.
“We didn’t know this was someone else’s territory.” The leader alisema calmly. “My name is Cody, This is my beta Craig, That’s my co: beta Kalah, That’s Levi, and the last but not least is Alex.” Cody alisema motioning his head toward them as he alisema there names.
“Hello all of you. I am Bret, this is my beta Brantlee but we call him BJ, this is my co: beta Britnee, And Mya.” Bret alisema doing the same motioning his head as he alisema our names.
“Hi and Were sorry we trespassed on your territory we really didn’t know.” Craig said. Then glancing my way. Our eye’s met His eye’s were a light blue. Then he looked away again.
Weirdo. I thought to myself.
“Let’s go talk.” Bret alisema motioning towards the right side of the meadow and shifted.
“Okay.” Cody alisema after shifting and walked to where Bret had said.
“Is it safe?” I asked him through my mind.
“Yes it should be fine.” As if they had asked the same swali to there Alpha they all shifted as well.
“Hi.” I said.
“Hi.” Craig said.
“Awkward..” Britnee muttered under her breath.
“Uh…What’s your inayopendelewa color?” Craig alisema trying to start a conversation.
“A shade darker than navy blue.” I said, even though it was still an awkward situation.
“Mines green.” Britnee said.
“Mine too.” Alex said. That was the first time he had talked.
“Yellow.” Kalah alisema shyly.
“Pink au red.” BJ alisema quietly. Almost a whisper.
Then we all went silent.
“Well that was an awkward start.” Craig alisema after a while. “By the way your fur, manyoya looks cool Mya. Especially your white mduara, duara around your eye.”
“Thanks.” I alisema shyly. “Your fur, manyoya is cool too.”
“Still awkward.” Britnee muttered again.
“Britnee I think we all know that it’s awkward so wewe can stop saying that.” BJ alisema with a frown on his face.
“Sorry.” Britnee alisema being a smart-ass.
“Don’t start Brit.” I alisema not wanting another fight. “BJ’s leg just healed and I’m tired of all of the bite marks and bite mark scars.”
“That bad?” Craig asked, with a sympathetic look on his face.
“Yup.” I alisema holding out my arm and pulling the sleeve up so he could see one of my many, many scars.
It was a rounded one though. “That one was from three weeks ago.”
“Good thing mtu-bweha heal fast.” Levi alisema walking over and then examining the scar. “She grabbed your front leg when wewe stepped in to stop them?”
“Correct.” BJ said. Then howling started Inside my head.
Carol? What’s wrong? I asked my wolf.
I’m sorry I had to get your attention somehow. Something will happen soon.
What? I asked confused but she faded away again.
“What’s wrong? Hello? Mya to earth! Mya to earth!” Britnee to yelling in my ear.
“OUCH!” I yelled back at her.
“Sorry couldn’t get your attention. What’s wrong?” Britnee asked concerned.
Then I realized that Cody’s pack was still there and his pack and mine were staring at me. “Um, nothing just Carol bugging me again.”
“Oh, okay.” Bret alisema then went back to his and Cody’s conversation.
“I’m gonna go for a run.” I alisema starting to walk away. But then called over my shoulder. “Howl when there done talking. K?”
“KK.” Brit called back. Then started talking to Teresa while Alex and Levi started a wrestling match. But I couldn’t see Craig.
Must be talking with the Alpha’s. I thought to myself.
I had just broke into a jog and was about to shift when I realized someone was behind me.
“Mind if I jiunge you?” Craig’s voice called.
“Sure why not.” I alisema just wanting to be alone.
Then shifted. It was nice to be a mbwa mwitu again. But Craig was quiet.
“Britnee seems to like Levi.” I alisema through my mind giving a small laugh. “Isn’t that funny?”
“Sure.”
“Not much of a talker huh Craig?”
“Actually I am, and just call me Stars. K?”
“Okay works for me.” I said.
“Mines blue kwa the way.”
I thought for a sekunde and then it clicked. “Oh, your inayopendelewa color. Cool.”
“What about yours?” He asked.
“You figured out my trick didn’t you.” My eye’s always gave it away. “Purple but the one I told wewe is my sekunde just don’t tell anyone else that it’s purple. Makes me feel….girly.”
“Secret salama with me.”
“Thanks.”
The inayofuata five miles we were silent. Then he stumbled on a branch that fell and accidentally shifted and tumbled down a slope.
“Oh great.” I groaned as I shifted and went in after him.
Then I slipped and tumbled down and landed right on juu of him.
“Sorry.” I croaked trying to get off of him but then realized that we were in a little ditch and that is I got off then I would fall right back down on juu of him again.
So I just kind of pulled myself up enough I was leaning my back against the ukuta of the ditch. I was shoulder to shoulder with him trying to figure out a plan.
If I shifted I would crush him and that wouldn’t help us either.
“We’ll just have to climb on our hands on our hands and knee’s.” Stars said. Obviously paying attention to my facial expressions to know that I was thinking of a plan to get out.
“Okay. That might work if I could get off of you.” I alisema frowning.
“Yeah that might help.” he alisema then pausing before talking again and trying to think of a plan. Then started to lift me off the ground.
Then I almost barfed on him because of motion sickness. “Sorry.” I alisema again.
Then he put me down. Now that we could stand we could get out.
We started crawling up the walls of the slope.
Then when we were finally out I brushed my pants and shati off. “Better.” I said. My clothes were perfectly fine now. But when I saw Craig’s clothes I couldn’t think the same.
They were covered. “Um…we could say wewe fell down a slope and I pulled wewe back up?” I said. At least it was a half truth.
“Sure.” he alisema trying to brush himself off.
“Stupid idea to jump in after wewe huh?” I said.
“Yup. But wewe don’t even know me at all really but wewe jumped in there and tried to save me. Damn. You’re the bravest mbwa mwitu I’ve ever met.” he alisema smiling. “High five.” Then he held his hand up and I high fived him. Then we shifted and ran back towards the meadow.
CHAPTER THREE
Best friends
When we got back the two Alpha’s decided they would just be one big pack. The first pack in three-thousand years to have two Alpha’s.
And of course Mined and Stars plan worked, but Levi and Alex teased him about being saved kwa a girl.
Then inayofuata siku was sunny and there were only a couple clouds in the sky.
“Beautiful siku huh?” Craig alisema while we were on patrol.
“Yup.”
“Wanna be best friends?” Stars asked. That caught me off guard but he was like a brother to me now.
“Sure.” I said.
And the rest of our patrol was silent.
When our patrol was over, we went back to the meadow while Alex and Levi headed out.
I walked over to the left side of the meadow to see what Britnee and Teresa were talking about.
“Hey I guys!” I alisema as I got to them.
“Oh, uh hey…” Kalah alisema then trailing off.
“What’s up?” I asked confused.
“Kalah Likes Alex.” Britnee alisema in a teasing tone.
“Oh…It’s okay Kalah. Britnee likes Levi.” I alisema trying to cheer her up.
“Hey! That’s not fair!” Britnee alisema irritated I read her thoughts.
“Sorry couldn’t resist.” I said. Being a telepath was fun.
Then out of the corner of my eye I saw Craig coming this way.
“Hey dude and duddet’s. what’s wewe talking about?” Craig asked.
“Don’t wewe dare tell him!” Britnee and Kalah hissed at me.
“Fine, fine, sheesh! Sorry but they won’t let me and won’t say.”
“KK. Just asking.” right after he alisema that there was Alex au Levi started howling.
“Let’s go.” Me and Craig alisema at the same time.
We ran through the forest till we came to the slope we fell in last month.
“Who fell in the hole now?” Craig alisema teasing Alex and Levi.
“Please! Just get us out!” Levi yelled.
We carefully walked down the slope just enough to grab them and pull them out.
“Thanks.” they alisema after we pulled them out.
“Your welcome.” we alisema at the same time giving each other a high five.
Then we shifted and started running back to the meadow.
“What’s the matter Alex? Embarrassed? Because a girl helped save you?” I teased Alex.
“No!” he alisema grumpily.
“Sure.” I alisema sarcastically and walked off towards where Craig was trying to climb a tree.
“Need some help?” I asked. He was half way up but about to fall.
“Nope-” then he slipped and almost fell to the ground.
“Sure wewe don’t.” I alisema climbing up. “Grab these pieces of bark not those.”
“Okay I think I got it now.” he said. We both climbed up and then he sat on the closest branch he could find while I climbed on the branch that was over his head.
“Cool view.” he said.
“Oh great!” I groaned. Alex was walking right this way with Levi.
“Mya and Craig sitting in a tree, Barf, Barf, barf, barf, barf, barf, barf.” Alex said.
“Oh knock it off! Bird brain! Were not even on the same branch.” I alisema lunging a big fat piece of bark at him. Then Levi.
“Hey!” they alisema as the bark hit there heads.
“Just like the Paramore song! That’s what wewe get!” I alisema laughing.
“That’s it were coming up!” Levi alisema trying to hold back a laugh.
I got up. Keeping my balance. Then I climbed up as many branches as I could, and jumped to the inayofuata mti landing with a low thud that only a werewolf. Then I climbed up further on that one and jumped to the inayofuata mti and turned around so I could see what was going on.
Craig was on the ground with Levi and Alex and they all looked confused.
“Hey! How’d wewe get all the way over there?!” Alex yelled.
“That’s not fair!” Craig yelled.
“You were in on it?” I yelled back. Even though I already knew.
“Yup!” He yelled back.
“Thought we were best friends?! Scam!” I yelled back laughing.
“Still are. I was just playing a joke on you. wewe know we should call wewe Dove! Your just like one! Except for the fact that you’re a tom-boy!” he yelled back.
“Works for me Stars!” I yelled again. Then jumped down and gracefully landed on my feet.
Then I walked back over there. “Thanks.” I alisema as I got closer. “That was fun. Finally got my daily jump from mti to tree.”
As I got closer I noticed behind them that Britnee and Kalah were hiding in the trees and waving for me to come with them.
“Be right back dudes. Gotta see what they want.” I groaned and ran to the spot where they hid.
“What?” I groaned at them.
“Come on! We need to talk to you!” Kalah squealed.
“Okay, okay, okay!” I alisema and just let Britnee tow me through the forest.
We finally stopped at a clearing. Judging kwa the time it took about three miles away from the meadow.
“What do wewe want?!” I groaned again.
“Promise wewe won’t rip our throats out first.” Britnee said. Then taking a step back.
“Fine.”
“We set wewe up on a tarehe with Craig.” Kalah squealed.
“You two are lucky I promised au wewe would be dead!” I yelled at them balling my hands up in fists.
“You like him, and wewe know it.” Kalah said.
“As a friend!” Damn telepath. “You’re a telepath aren’t you?”
“Yup.”
“Then wewe would know I only liked him as a friend! Sure he has pretty eye’s! but that does not mean that I like him!”
******
“Promise wewe won’t rip our throats out first Stars!” Alex said.
“Fine.”
“Us and the girls set wewe and njiwa up on a date.” Levi alisema backing away.
I growled. “I should rip wewe two limb from limb!” I growled at them again.
“Kalah is a telepath wewe know. And she told us wewe like her and she likes you!” Alex said. A smirk on his face.
“As a friend! wewe idiots!” I growled at them. If Kalah wasn’t a girl… Damn telepaths! I thought.
******
“I’m a telepath too wewe know!” I alisema threatening Kalah I’d tell Alex she liked him.
I had already read Craig’s thoughts he did like me a little to much but I liked him as a friend only.
“Whatever.” they alisema at the same time.
CHAPTER FOUR
Damn Telepath
Britnee and Kalah explained when the “Date” would be.
“Three days.” they had said. Which meant Sunday.
They were lucky that I promised not to rip there throats out. Britnee and Kalah ended up being great Marafiki in the one mwezi the pack had been one big one.
“Maybe I can just-”
“Hey njiwa wait up!” Craig and Alex cut off my evil plan I was about to put together.
I growled a low growl then turned around. “Fine. And don’t think I don’t know that Cody and Bret sent wewe two so I couldn’t plot a plan to rip there throats out.” I alisema kusoma there minds.
“Okay….” Alex said.
“Got us there. Anyway Levi will be helping later, and were going to keep wewe busy all siku so, what do wewe want to do?” Craig said.
“How should I know? I was busy plotting an evil plan.” I alisema sarcastically.
“That’s exactly the reason why were here.” Alex said. “I’d be teasing wewe but wewe didn’t promise not to rip my head off so…”
“You know I didn’t think about that. I could do that instead of ripping there heads off.” I alisema messing with Alex. He stepped back and I stepped forward.
“No wewe don’t.” Craig said, grabbing me kwa the waist and pulling me back.
“Hey! Not fair!” I said. “I was gonna have fun doing that.”
“Your not ripping Levi’s head off either.” He alisema putting me down.
“But I just wanted to rip someone’s head off…” I alisema sadly.
“How about we just go hunting for squirrels, and wewe can rip there heads off?”
“Fine.” I said.
“Let’s go then.” He alisema then walked me back to where we were before.
“I’m sorry Alex…”
“Excepted as long as wewe don’t rip my throat out.”
I growled at him. “Whatever.”
“Okay let’s go.” Craig said.
We shifted and ran farther into the forest to hunt for squirrels.
When Levi finally arrived I had already ripped off twenty-eight squirrels.
“Why is there Twenty-eight dead beheaded squirrels on the ground? And why is njiwa chewing on another one?” Levi asked as he entered the clearing where I got all the squirrels from.
“You don’t want to know.” Alex said, and I growled at him.
Then I spotted another squirrel wagging it’s tail at me. So I put the one I had in my mouth down and crouched, then launched my self at it.
Got it. I thought to myself. Then I went back to the still alive squirrel on the ground and put my paw on the other one so I could pop this ones head off.
There we go. I thought to myself again as I tossed that one and it’s head into the pile.
Then I chewed on the one I just caught till it stopped breathing, and popped it’s head off.
“Thirty.” I alisema getting and feeling satisfied. “I feel better now.”
“Uh-huh…” they all three said.
“What’s next?” I alisema shifting back to my human form.
“What do wewe want to do?” Craig asked.
“Uh… don’t know. Anything to keep me busy from plotting a plan to kill my sister.” I alisema smiling.
“Okay.” Levi said.
Then howling started. “Let’s go.” Craig said. “Dove wewe will be in front with me, so wewe can’t attack from behind.”
“Come on!” I groaned. “Fine.” I growled.
We ran to the meadow but I was ahead of them.
Finally, when we got to the meadow Bret had said. “I sent Britnee and Kalah out and didn’t want wewe In the woods with them.”
“Oh come on I’m fine now! I chewed off thirty squirrel heads!” I growled at him. Then he gave me the you’d better obey, look. “Fine.”
Now I lay in the middle off the meadow in my mbwa mwitu form.
“Seriously?” I asked.
“Yes seriously.” Craig said. Bret, Cody, and the others went on a hunting trip but I didn’t want to go so Craig volunteered to keep an eye on me.
I groaned. Why? Why? I thought to myself. It was already Thursday.
Then the weirdest thing happened. Craig curled up in a ball on facing the other way inayofuata to me.
Weird. I thought to myself again. But he was really warm. It felt nice. It was cool outside at night.
Weird how female mtu-bweha only get one-hundred-thirty degrees but males got two-hundred-fifty degrees. I thought.
“Nice night sky here.” Craig said.
“Yup.” I alisema awkwardly.
“Well I’m going to sleep. Night.” Craig alisema drifting off.
“Night.”

“Okay, okay are they done yet?” Just as she alisema it they walked through the door.
“Hurry up.” Bret commanded, and Britnee obeyed grabbing her clothes quickly and running to the bathroom.
When she finally came out we headed out the front door running to the forest.

“Night.”
