Kate opens her eyes and takes a deep breath... "Finally, I'm free
after all these years of being trapped in this prison. Kate turns around
and sees' the claw trap holding her down. With both paws she grabs

Chapter 30: The End of the Tale

Kate, Humphrey, and fira, viper arrived at Leyla’s house late that night, but she was still awake and gladly let them in.

“What are wewe guys doing here?” she asked.

“We came back to live with you,” Humphrey said, “…if you’re okay with that.”

“Of course,” Leyla replied, “but what about the Western Pack?”

“It just hasn’t really felt the same ever since Viggo happened,” Humphrey told her. “And I actually really liked living here with wewe and Viper. Besides, everyone’s going to be fine. Stinky’s a great leader and he’ll take good care...

Chapter 28: Humphrey's Decision

It took two days for Kate and Humphrey to return to the valley and they were greeted happily when they arrived.

“You’re back!” fira, viper exclaimed when she saw them.

“What happened with Viggo?” Oscar asked.

“He’s gone,” Humphrey replied, beginning to explain their entire ordeal.

“Viggo’s dead?” Stinky asked when Humphrey was finished.

“They’re all dead,” Kate replied. “Viggo, Robert, the survivors of the battle; they’re all gone.”

“It’s finally over,” Humphrey said, smiling a little.

Word quickly spread that Viggo and Robert were dead...

When Humphrey woke up the inayofuata day, he was in a completely different place. For a moment, he thought he was back in the pack, but as he looked around, he realized that nothing was familiar. The rocks, the grass, the one single mti that was there. He then noticed a fence surrounding the small area he had woken up in with a grey stone building and a door on one side. He was confused. Where was he? Where was Leyla?

“Hey!” a voice called.

Humphrey turned around and looked at who the voice belonged to. He noticed another mbwa mwitu standing behind him, looking at him. The mbwa mwitu had dark grey fur, manyoya and...

Chapter 5: Dawn of Destruction

Night had fallen and Claudette, Runt, and most of the pack had long since gone to sleep. A few Mbwa mwitu loups remained awake to guard the borders in case something went wrong, sleeping in shifts the whole night. The rest of the siku had gone kwa without event after Stinky had left and everyone thought nothing bad was going to happen. As dawn approached, however, something did happen. Something that would change everyone’s lives forever.

The sun was just beginning to come up over the horizon and the Mbwa mwitu loups that were out on patrol could see the light peeking out from behind...

Epilogue

The inayofuata five years of Humphrey’s life passed quickly. He had become good Marafiki with Salty, Mooch, and Shaky and they rarely did anything alone. One day, toward the beginning of fall, Humphrey decided to onyesha them something he had been meaning to for a while but had never gotten the chance to. He led them up to a kilima near a waterfall and he found a sturdy logboard for them. The four went hurtling down the kilima when Salty, Mooch, and Shakey were thrown off and only Humphrey was left. And then, suddenly, he saw Kate leaping through the air as he went flying off a ledge.

Chapter 9: The Wounded Warrior

“Humphrey!” Kate shouted.

As soon as he felt the excruciating pain in his side, Humphrey’s jaw relaxed and the man crawled out from under him, cradling his injured arm. Humphrey staggered, but remained standing. His face showed an expression of surprise rather than pain.

He turned his head and looked at Kate who just stood in the cage, horrified kwa what she saw. They held each other’s gaze for a moment and then Humphrey collapsed onto the ground.

Those same pups have progressed so quickly since their birth (as all Mbwa mwitu loups do.) They have began to run amok all over the United mbwa mwitu Pack. They have driven their mother Kate crazy.
