I upendo how far Damon has come since S1. He's been taking baby steps but its big improvement. I don't think he gets it himself also i don't think some viewers get it. In the finale, when he alisema "He'd made alot of decisions that got him where he is and how he doesn't blame Stefan for anything that happened to him" some people just took that as a speech but it is character development, last mwaka he wouldn't have alisema any of that. A little off topic but I was watching an old 'Dawson's Creek' episode earlier the ones where KW was still in Charge I have to say I upendo his uandishi he always writes his Characters & their stories with such great depth & detail.
