I felt sorry for Snape, but only because he lost his best friend, not because she didn't love him. I think he didn't really deserve Lily's love. Snape brought what happened on himself. He made the choice to call Lily a mudblood, and then he joined the Death Eaters. I don't feel sorry for the man who grew up to become a bully. I cannot sympathize with the man who could not let go of the past and bullied the supposed love of his life's son. Jacob, on the other hand, I feel a lot of sympathy for. Bella used and manipulated him. There was never true friendship on her end. She never even thought about Jacob's feelings. And no, I don't consider Breaking Dawn to be a happy ending. He ends up with the spawn of the woman he loved and his worst enemy? What the hell kind of ending is that?
