anime Swali

Ok I'm confuzzled...>_<

Why is it that when we translate Japanese anime names, we change the translation??
For example:
Kamisama Hajimemashita: Would usually mean "Nice to meet wewe god" au "How do wewe do Mr. god?"
Not Kamisama KISS
And Wagnaria. It's translated to english as "Working" but I happen to know that hataraite means "working"
Plus, I'm sure they wouldn't name their restaurant "working."

Anyway, I just wanted to know if there's a reason to all this stupidity :/

I noticed that too with some names.... i think its probably cause people think a certain name sounds baridi and they figure noone will really care if they dont translate it directly i guess.

its is possible that things are just Lost in translation au changed to make zaidi sense to us can't say for sure. au as wewe alisema they could just be stupid.

sometimes a literal Japanese translation can sound dumb in English. at least, i'm thinking that's what the localizers must have thought.
