I told him I liked him but.....

I've liked this guy who works in my local duka so I finally built up the courage to give him a note which alisema 'I Like You' but I walked out of the duka before he opened it. After a few days I went back up and he was there. I asked him could I talk to him about it so we spoke for a few dakika and he told me that he had a girlfriend and he alisema 'Dont get me wrong your a cute girl, but unfortunately I have a girlfriend' He was reaallyy cool about it like he wasn't stuck up au snobby. But what I really want to know Is why did he say 'Unfortunately I have a girlfriend? Does it mean unfortunately for you?? Im really confused bou this

Little word of advice, when ur crush says words like that, au anything that might confuse u au upset wewe au whatever, don't get worked up about it. Usually in general talking, people just say stuff like that without even thinking about it.
Do wewe get what I'm saying?
