Surprisingly, Lisa, Tappy, and Alex were already in the cafe`; 3 hours before Sofie alisema she would be there.
"Sofie! Your early." Tappy greeted her. She took her bag off the chair she had saved for her after pushing her hair into her black hoodie. Sofie sat down just as the waitress walked over to them. She had almost the same hair as Alex-- a short-cut brown and blonde highlighted style. On juu of her head was a pink rynstoned cap. Sofie looked over to Lisa, who glanced at the woman's name tag which read Sumer.
"Hey, Sofie. You've been coming here a lot lately, haven't you?" Sumer asked.
"Yeah. Me and my friends."
Sumer glanced around the table.
"Right.. your friends.." Tappy and Alex frowned at her. "Well, what'll it be?" Sumer took out a small green notepad from the front of her cafe` apron pocket.
"Usual." She smiled.
"Milk-Coffee, with that little tap of whipped cream wewe like on the top?"
Sofie giggled.
"Yeah, Sumer."
"'Kay." She turned and swiftly walked away. When she was gone, Sofie turned back to the 3 people beside her.
"Lisa," Lisa looked up.
"Yeah?"
"Do wewe think I'm worn-out and look tired all the time?" She asked.
"No. Why?"
"Before I left, Camille reminded me to put on some "nice clothes" for tomorrows sale. She alisema a looked "too tired" in my koti, jacket with my hair up."
"THAT-- Sofie, your not tired. Your fine. wewe look fine." Alex told her.
"Yeah. Maybe if wewe just.. smiled once and a while.." Tappy began to play with her hair avoiding eye-contact with her friend.
"Thanks."
"You wanted the truth, right?"
"Yeah, I did."
She sat back in her chair and was silent for a moment.
"Have wewe asked Henry how wewe look?" Lisa asked. Sumer returned carrying a tray with a small off-white mug and slid it over to Sofie.
"Here wewe go, hun." She smiled and walked away again.
Sofie took a sip and studied over Lisa's question.
"Ask Henry, huh?"
"No; I alisema have wewe asked Henry how wewe look."
"No. He tells me I look fine all time."
"That jerk." Alex interuppted.
"What?" Tappy said, recently going through her purse, she glanced up at him.
"I don't like Henry. He's so stuck-up, and all he ever wants to talk about is his book."
"He does not!" Sofie stood up, defending her boyfriend. "He's just excited about getting it published."
"Has he ever asked wewe about your day? au how your feeling?" Alex said, raising his eyebrow at her. Lisa stuck a piece of gum in her mouth as she listened intentivly.
"Well.."
"Exactly. Some boyfriend.."
Sofie's mind raced with thoughts until it landed on something that had been nipping her for the past 15 minutes.
"Oh no!" I have to go meet someone!"
"Who?" Tappy smiled.
"This guy.. for my sister!" Sofie grabbed her rangi nyekundu, nyekundu kolevu leather kanzu, koti she had laid on the back of her chair and slurped the last of her coffee. "See wewe guys tomorrow au something!" Dashing out the door, her Marafiki tilted their heads down without another word, listening to the gentle hum of jazz muziki playing in the back round.
